light gets diffracted by the blades giving a spreaded light effect ie. stars with how many points depends on how many blades ur lens has... u can experiment with different settings on your cam to see the effect it gives.

its not unusual to have OOF subjects when it is recomposed to the edges of the image after locking its focus at the center.

Ideally is to MF after using the AF, and using the AF point nearest to the subject definitely helps. But if your subject is moving, it wont be easy to lock focus, and auxiliary focusing points are not as sensitive as the center point.

tytons should be at the right side of the stage, i was in the photographer's area...

furthermore, it could be different sessions.. they used the same models the entire event...

even if u use a 1 meter long lens hood will do you no good.. you're shooting AT the light source.. light is bouncing off the lens elements/filter/sensors.

IMHO, u put in too much 'glow'. Does give a dreamy effect, but makes it look off focus as well. And the highlights are completely blown out.
