Ha am here am here. I did a 7 hour epic marathon. Yay RM10 from tengster

1) There were no water @ water station for slow runners after 17.5km.. next available station was 35km and they were packing up when I arrived (around 10:15).. Luckily we passed by a lot of 7-elevens and can buy drinks from there. I told my best fren to wait for me at KLCC with a cold Pocari Sweat (around 22.5km and that was a bloody good idea since the other runners had to go buy from mamak at Central). Oh yea.. no water station = no aid station too. They even managed to 'clean the evidance that there was a water station there' by tapauing the signboards and tables.. Just a tent and wet splashes on the road. I was the lucky ones whom managed to get a banana and water (in bottles) @ 15k mark near Tabung Haji.. I read that runners after that didnt even get banana and water.................
2) I was at 25th km and wanted to take my 3nd Gel. There was no water so I looked for bottles that the earlier runners threw away on the road. Managed to kutip one with some water inside - took my Gel but I think there were amazed to desperate ppl do something like that
3) Traffic control was so-so. There were some areas where things couldve been better. I was honked by a stupid lady driving Vios near Petaling Street while trying to get my PowerGel from the PowerGel station. I asked the abang manning the station "Abang, got water onot?... " (he's not from the organizing committee tho.. he's from PowerBar).. "Got got.. in front got water station".. and lo and behold .. I had to borrow money from Runner 0249 to buy water from mamak...
4) There was a couple of mobile toilets located on the OTHER side of the road on the 33rd-37th km @ Jalan Istana/Mahameru. Luckily I didnt have the urge to pee.
5) There were no pacers with baloons. Not that I need one. First water station was at 5k instead of 2.5k. There were missing stations, around Cheras area.. Kampung Baru area...
6) I had calves cramp @ around the 29th km (@metalfreak, it FINALLY happened

). I guess it's a combination of severe dehydration and lack of strength training for my calves. No aid station @ 30th km. Had to fumble my way till the 32k where finally someone was there to spray my calves. Too late - I couldnt even walk without pain. And the red cresent Abang even said "Nak lari sampai habis ke? Jauh ni" ...

(btw, the sweeper bus was located beside the 32k station - NO WATER btw)
7) Spent almost 2 hour 40 minutes completing the last 12k (my first 21k was around 3hr+). I arrived at Jalan Raja Laut with roads already opened to traffic and we had to walk on the sidewalks because it's impossible to run - there were too many lorong and traffic lights. I was actually almost at the 38k mark on the 6th hour. But it's definitely an experience I'll never forget.
8) I finished the race STRONG - I gave everything I could, stayed positive and gave The Hubby a big bear hug after crossing the finish line. Limped to the bag station and - (I guess this took the cake) - I arrived and they were out of medals. Finisher tshirt only XL size........ when the runners were expressing their disappointments, I just had to shout out "FTAAA is better!"

You see, ladies and gentlemen. If you have quad cramps, you can still walk.. calves, not so much. I cant walk now, btw

. No medal, crappy tee that I may send to tailor to get it refit. Will I run a marathon again? Yes. This time I'll bring water bottles, own muscle rub, own banana, own PowerGel....
Congras...
