Penang bridge is in a week and im still sick T_T

ARGHH,i've been sick the last whole week which was the week im suppose to intensif training=.="

==" the world is so unfair currently.
*
just rest, and try not to take antibiotics. it will weaken ur body tremendously. i still remember last yr Pg mara, i was on medication for 2 weeks b4 race day. on theday, whole body lemah and was really struggling fr 25k onwards.

Now I am carrying a sprain knee ligament into Pg mara. I think cramp my training into 2 months and dont have enuf rest in between. Hopefully it gets better towards the week, else have to think of a way to overcome the pain to endure a 42k run.

afternoon confirm go Lorong Selamat eat Char Kuey Teow & ice Kacang with Sarsi Sugar. call me when u guy wanna come drool.gif
*
sfax, we will only arrive ard noon time. our bus is 8am in the morning. staying at Krystal Suites. If you wanna come and lepak let us know. wont want to walk too much and overeat. only do it after my run. just normal consumption of food will do for me.

anyway there isnt much time to sleep especially for those doing the 42k as the race start at 3am. almost very similar to running Sundown Marathon.

hi, i just back from Powerman.  regarding the Newton running shoe, i saw one of the booth during the Powerman registration / race day event.  Their website is www.Quick-Sport.com there is a video on Newton Running shoe too.  They are operating on online basis.  i've been buying some stuffs with them.  You may take a look of it.
*
cas2you,
Thx for the infor. i know Quick-Sport. The guy running the business is Yong, selling mostly Tri stuff. I am not interested in Newton as I am marketing Saucony right now. I believe Saucony had the price advantage and value for money in terms of performance and technology. But again every brand had its pros and cons in terms of what it offer and also individual preference.

Let me know if you are interested in Saucony running shoes as well as Tri tops and bottoms.

sfax: I call that more on protein loading. The protein versus carbo ratio is unbalance towards the protein side. Haha... There's a way to carbo load. If you don't follow the science of it, no matter how much carbs you eat a day or two before the race, it won't work you know.
*
sfax, u seems like very der kancheong woh. first time running Pg Bridge?? cool down, cool down. marn man lai !!! and also dont get intimitated by those crazy runners who sprint out very fast, most of them sure KONG one before reaching the mid-span of the bridge. You want effective carbo-load, just walk into KFC and buy a tub of mesh potato and whack it kau2. sure got power the next morning. tats my secret recipe during my younger days of running.

ccube, do u have time to COD next week either Tues or Wed night in KL? I would like to get a Fastwitch 3 from you, size 6 1/2 US
*
teoanne, US6.5 is not available from my new stocks as distributor in Sg didnt order it. The smallest I got is US7. Maybe you can try it out first. As for the price, there is an increase to the new stock (08 summer models), and now its selling at RM260. Let me know what do you think.

choy, the black fast switch is same price like the normal color one?
*
tongyam, the price had increase to RM260 due to higher exchange rate of USD and SGD vs Ringgit Malaysia. Nothing that I can control. In fact the weakening of RM will see the price of US goods increase significantly as most of the running shoes are from USA.

ccube, the proton run is conjunction with proton health carnival. The run will be held tomorrow 7:30am at Proton's showroom located at alongside the Kesas Highway toward Klang. The run i think for Proton's staff only coz runner need to put their staff Id on the registration form. I've yet to confirm this with the organizer. I wil join the run but actually i'm still recovering from my knee injury.

riq, then its too far for me if if i can run. TQ for the infor anyway.

These models are only release in US come Jan 2009, we probably have to wait minimum one to two months beofre it reaches Malaysia soil. But this is to give you an indication what to lookout for. The new model that was introduce was Echelon, the rest are generally color updates.

QUOTE(meatball88 @ Nov 26 2008, 12:03 PM)
Hi running sifus...i would like to know: smile.gif

How long after you have try half marathon b4 decided to run full marathon?

eg after how many 21km b4 trying 42km or time span from running first time 21km to first time 42km.

The reason i ask is i want to know how soon an average person takes b4 he is confident enough for full marathon.

Thank You..please give me some feedback. biggrin.gif
*
meatball, depend on how GUNG-HO you are. Some do one or two 21k and head towards 42k, some run 21k forever and never got the guts to do 42k. some their first race is 42k, cinya salute. Dunno how to write the word DIE. IMHO, i think if you have done 3 to 4 21k races, you shud be ready to training for a 42k. And dont expect too much from your maiden 42k, its just to go out enjoy the run and experience it. after that you can analysis where your strength and weakness are and work on it.
