Hey guys! How you all doing?
I read some posts and understand that there are group running sessions at Lake Garden???
If so, what's the schedule for the week? I'm doing my industrial training and get off work at 5:45 pm and can arrive at Lake Gardens around 6:30 pm.
Otherwise I just run at Fitness First IOI Mall. I'm currently training for the Standard Char Half Marathon.
On the weekends I run around my neighborhood at Setiawangsa for 5-10 km but it's soooooo boring to run alone.
I'm bored having cars, motorcycles and sometimes barking dogs as my running partners.....I need some motivation smile.gif

Hey bro

Some of us are running at Lake Gardens on Saturdays..afew group infact. not sure of the other group's timing but for my friends and I, we start around 6am(if punctual la....we try to be biggrin.gif before the sun fries us all). we do slow runs but try to hit 10K ~ 20K~. So far the longest was about 17K.

Won't be running on Saturdays for these 2 weeks coz this weekend is Larian Bomba and next week is NB15KM smile.gif After that my friends and I will most likely resume our training together.

You can check with Devilzzz . he knows what time and all.

I've always thought UFL is the official disti for Polar HRMs, coz they were last time (when I was cycling, that was like 9 yrs ago..  tongue.gif ). Did U manage to check the price ? Are they cheaper than Davis' price ?

Added on May 13, 2009, 7:53 pm
Just use it for all Ur workouts la. I use it at the gym, when I run, even when I play badminton. Just wanna know what kinda heart rate we're putting out when playing badminton, also the calorie count la.
AFAIK, all Polar models starting with RS is for running/multisport. & the ones with SD suffix, means it includes stride sensor. the X SD suffix means it comes with GPS tracker + stride sensor.

I'm eyeing the RS200SD/RS300SD. Those are below RM800 (from Davis' price la). I guess the ultimate one will be the RS800SD running computer, I think one of the forumer in this thread wanted to sell this. The new one is about RM1800 I think....

Thanks alot bro. appreciate the reply. At least I can start checking them out and save some cash.

No, the RS200SD is not GPS compatible I think. The RS300X SD is the one with both stride sensor (S1 Footpod) & G1 GPS tracker.

Well, while U're at it, could U check the price for all 3 models ? RS200SD, RS300SD & RS300XSD. Thanks in advance .. biggrin.gif
*
That would be good too smile.gif

Ask la..if buy 2, ada discount? tongue.gif

Devillzzz r u getting one bro?

For RM1800, wont you guys consider a Garmin 305 / 405 which I think its much more superior.  The Polar that I saw Phoenix uses (which he had just sold) had so many small gadgets eg the foot pod that one have to wear. W/O that u just cannot determine your pace and distance. The GPS tracker is not so fast in terms of synch-ing up with the GPS.  I am a GARMIN user for almost 2 years and I must said its a fantastic product.  Just my 2 cts.

hey man, oh nolar..I'm not looking at that model which costs RM1800. was looking at the models that was about RM800 (RS200SD/RS300SD)? or so.

Oh and yeah, Garmin 405 rocks man. My friend using it. Awesome gadget to have.

DaVis? Is he reliable? Coz have to bank in a whole lot >.<. But alot of customers ...should be trustworthy.

After all the hard work, looks like I won't be able to run in the PACM NB 15K tomorrow. I've been down with a 40C fever since yesterday. Only now I was able to get up, after getting a jab from the clinic this morning. They thought it was dengue, but I've always thought it's the normal high fever I'd get once in a while, becoz of my tonsils. Well, all is well now, but I dun think I'd be strong enuff to race tomorrow. I wanted to take my vest & numbers this afternoon (since I've already paid for it), but I got up only at about 4.30pm, so it was too late. Maybe I can go the PACM office next week to get it.

To make up for it, I'm thinking of joining the Putrajaya night run next week (23/5), but I dunno if it's for member's only or what.

Bummer...  cry.gif  cry.gif

Hope you'll recover soon. I've been through such situations...doesn't matter if u have to skip a run...listen to your body. Moar runs to come anyway biggrin.gif

Bad for me...really bad. My cramps was the worst one ever experienced so far.

I couldn't move, quickly sat down. Basket no one stopped to help even though they ran by but Thank God, 1 good Samaritan helped me (the foot bending thingy).

Both my legs......my calves just went inwards like a pond...or whatever u describe it. f***ing painful. That was just like 100 meters before the finishing funnel.

The photographer, Jason Lee came over to take our pictures laugh.gif "Relax relax, smile....relax awhile..don't worry almost finishing *clicks camera* "

I made my way slowly towards the line with that guy and of course, lari sikit sikit for the finishing pose. flex.gif

So my question is, how to overcome cramps? Training? 1 Uncle said take 2 bananas before the run because potassium helps us to be able to run longer.

hi guys,

i recently got addicted to running. i'm considering to replace my existing nike shox running shoes.
i've been looking at new balance shoes recently but i'm not sure what type is good.
i saw some light weight NB shoes (they are really really light). I'm tempted to get them.

what are your comments on light weight shoes as compared to the non light weight ones?

thanks
*
I guess the non light weight ones are those that will have more cushioning materials. These would help with the shock/impact on the road.

I guess those will be good for you as you just started running alot.

Light ones, probably for those fast runners who prefers lighter shoe biggrin.gif Doesn't weigh down their feet. but of course, not as much shock absorbers stuff.
