The player definitely affects the PQ bro. It's a matter of weather your eyes is good enough to detect it or not laugh.gif

PQ is very very good, the skin tone, black levels, the colours of the villages in Brazil & Mexico...superb!

AQ...hmmm...I watched at -34db last night but still can feel the LFE effect and surround envelope...should be very good if I crank up to min -20 thumbup.gif tongue.gif

-30db , -20db. hmmm now im worried.. my bds are watched at minimum pun -5db.. all my speakers calibrated at 75db.. hmm is it yammy v663 problem?

i watch astro at -20+ hmm but for bds i prefer to go loud.. i can hear the dialogues at low vol.. but i like hearing the ambience.. hmmm confuse now..

i have small room.. so theoritically i shouldnt need such high vols.. are sound leaking? hmm my sound proofing method is gay though.. thick curtains for 50% of the room.. and my deco are all over the place to break the sound somewhat.. hahaha

hmm wat speakers u using? all full range set to large ke? hmm but with calibration it shouldnt make much difference right? hmm weird..

yeah for astro / mkv, -5db is too loud.. but for bd.. its just right.. just to get some benchmarking here.. at -5db for me is like around 15-20% louder than a typical cinema volume for me.. how is -5db for u?

all my speakers calibrated at 75db like you.
all speakers set to small with crossover at 100Hz
I've tried -5db with BD...way too loud for comfortable enjoyment, I am sitting approx. 3.2m from the TV & the front speakers...
for music at pure direct...my normal level is -15db to fill my room, just like when i'm watching BD

My normal listening level for movies and music is at -37dB now. The most is -27dB when I'm in the mood for loud action movies. thumbup.gif

With my previous Yamaha, had to crank to -17dB for normal listening. sweat.gif

PS, I don't have any SPL meter to calibrate the levels. Just let the Audyssey do the job, and then adjust manually here and there. wink.gif
