morning~~ woke up late for work today.. sighh kk my weekend bd review:

spent my whole weekend watching WEEDS Season 1, 2, 3

PQ: s01e01= awesome pq with very vibrant colors. the rest of the episode in s01 was pretty bad pq... s02-s03 had good pq. kinda hell to calibrate as i have no idea how the picture was supposed to be colored.. so i just made everything goldy..

AQ: 7.1 ALL THE WAY.. haha surround not so nice.. but all of s01-s02-s03 has lots of songs playing.. so.. 7.1 HD music is drool.gif dialogues are Very clear.. no complaints basically

story: cant believe its as good as it was... wasnt expecting it to be.. That good.. recommended~

extra: the extras in the bds is quite nice too.. deleted scenes.. extra production vids.. and more.. hehe

i still remember the scene from Beauty and the beast. where they were dancing the first time in the ballroom.. can u guys remember that scene??? the artwork.. and how they move the scene to go up to the chandelier.. and focus in on the cherub paintings on the ceiling, then focus back on bell and the beast dancing with their reflection moving on the marbled floor against the starry royal blue sky... such an Amazing scene back on VHS! i just cant imagine how it would look now on Bluray... waaah~ drool.gif

The camera movement during that sequence was one of the pioneering feature film techniques in aminated films, thanks to "new" 3D technology at that time. I saw that during the "Making Of B&B" some umpty years back.

wow ur amazing for:

1. knowing that scene
2. knowing the back story behind that scene
3. referring beauty and the beast as "B&B"
4. and u got a crocodile with a crown as a sig!

Omg.. i said i wont get this dumb movie.. but after reading that review... its in my cart now.. Arrrhhhhhhh whyyyyy megaaaaaaaaa

btw... about the bit rate.. 16bit vs 24 bit vs bit depth
QUOTE
The difference between 48/16 and 48/24 would mainly show up in the ability to extend the frequency response 22khz and above and the dynamic range possible by the system. 48/16 dynamic range limit is around 100db I believe maybe slightly less. Considering that the average noise floor in an average room filled with electronics is about 24db then your playback level would need to be exceedingly high to begin to run into dynamic compression. As such you are sooner to run into the limitations of other components in the chain than the ability of the system to produce this type of dynamic range. 48/24 I think is above 120db in dynamic range giving you a great swing capability. Also the frequency response is more extended. As to whether or not it these differences are percievable for most systems in most rooms is debatable.

720P definitely. nod.gif

dunno about that, i know engineering side says 720p will be better than 1080i, however, my eyes say 1080i looks Much better than 720p.. depends on the movie i guess.. if movie lots of movement like action movie, then go for 720p.. but if movie is drama a bit, then go for 1080i...

2cents!

matrix is a different movie.. here is my experience..:

watched part 1 - 5x at the cinema.. since i have no idea what this movie is all about.. it took me 5x to watch it on the cinema before i truly understood it and appreciate the message it tried to send.. Amazinggggggg

watched part 2 - 3x at the cinema.. since i already know what mindset to put when watching matrix.. i automatically understood the movie from the start.. then i watched it again for the 2nd time when i realized of the language / and metaphors they used in the movie that i realized theres something more about the movie than it looks.. so i watched it a third time and.. WOW!! loved it more than part1..

watched part 3 - 3x.. man this movie is terrible.. a terrible end to an epic saga.. a cheezy twist to a phenomenal plot.. i watched it a 2nd and 3rd time just to make sure i didnt missunderstood it... but sadly i didnt.. part3 is simply CRAP...

watched animatrix - 2x.. some of them quiet interesting, while most is blehhhh
