You know when I got my iphone I search and search at LYN and google, there are just loads of info. After upgrading to 2.01 I plan to upgrade to 2.1 and I still read all those pin thread and read still blur and I was fortunately to post what I was plan to do and some kind fellow here point out that I will end up with a lock phone if I did that.

With that said I may not be as smart as I think I am


Anyway I do hope this forum would continue to grows and help newbies not end up as a place for old timer to discuss their favourite subject.

yes i know previously i did that before.. but recently i realized that i should stop all these immature bits and start helping out whenever i can..

if you could just browse to this site.. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-threads.cfm?f=128 , look at how those newbies are being helped out.. senior forumers make newbies feel welcome to ask questions, even tho its stupid.... i guess that's the kind of forum that we should be.. not flamming about and ask everyone to use the search button.. u've helped out.. u've done your bit.. done.. everyone stays happy..

and yes, i know that the spoon-feeding thing is annoying.. but coming to think of it, if you really like something, you surely want others to know more about it.. you explain to them till they understand.. that i think should be the way for iphone lovers to spread their enthusiasm on the iphone.. its a more mature kind of way to to help others out..

i'm open to all flames.. if you disagree, then lets put our arguments in a proper manner..

anyways, that i think is the whole purpose of having a forum..

oh well jakesean, unfortunately i'm still in malaysia (drinking her water and breathing her air) and i do not have the chance to enjoy the civility of an australian mindset. no doubt that it will probably takes me years for me to shake off this so-called atrocious mentality.


having said that, i would rather much prefer a newbie to do his/her prior research first before asking. because again as far as i'm concerned, if i reckon (using my own discretion of course) that TS has already done his/her homework and still meets a dead end, i'm all up for helping and sometimes requiring me to dig into my own wallet (surely this isn't new amongst members here as i do not command any sort of payment)


hence i do apologise jakesean, because until the time i could finally obtain the chance to step foot in australia and begin mingling with people in the land of good grace, i'm afraid we all have to do this the malaysian way (despite making us look bad sound immature).

lets face it.. no offence but your sarcacity truely reflects how most malaysians react to criticism.. some may agree, some may not..

people tend not to see their mistakes when they are in it.. but hopefully sooner or later, they'll realise..

for those who call themselves iphone guru's, (i'm no where near pointing at specific people), u should be ashamed at yourself for not helping out those who seeks help.. if this statement offends you, meaning you are one of them..

i admit, i now feel ashamed previously when someone asked for help, i ignored when i could have helped..

I agreed with your (Jakesean) point of having forum is to help others on their problems, and/or knowledge-sharing... that is the major purpose of it.
It is definitely on individual mentality that if one would search for a thread or not in a forum before any posting, which I believe most of the
forums nowadays do have "PINNED" or "STICKY" thread of it; same thing goes with the AU forum you posted.




Unfortunately, looks like MOD in [ AppleByte ] nor [ iPhone ] sub-forum, it seems like no MODs are doing their jobs here (no offense to the MOD).
Why I said so ? if those repetitively posted Qs are there, MODs can merge them all together, or at least make it more organized, isn't it ?

Perhaps what makes LYN and Whirlpool is, the mentality of forumers choose to SEARCH and READ before they posts any.
I reckon there are some noob/newbies does that in Whirlpool (correct me if i'm wrong), but at least there ain't so many as compare to LYN. Why ?
This proves that Whirlpool forumers are more mature in the sense, they do SEARCH and READING first, right ?

We all understand why newbie/noob keeps questioning Qs that have been posted (so many), yet most of them do not want to search and read at
all... that makes most of the seniors here are so frustrating with their "spoonfeed" attitudes. Most of us here can't do much on their mindsets problem,
but at least we can try to educate them with some posting to ask them to Search and Read first.

To me, it has something to do with someone's will that keen to read up or not, if he/she wishes to get his/her problems solved.
All of us here only with ONE purpose, which is to share our own knowledge with others. Unfortunately, most of the newbies/noobs
take their own liberty to bypass and skip it, no even thinking of the hardwork of our contributions here, instead seeking for a shortcut → Spoonfeeding.

This is merely my stand of views.... no flaming to anybody here. Just hope that every forumers here RESPECT each other, also APPRECIATE the contributions by any one of us.

Hopefully through forum, we manage to increase our knowledges besides working and studying. Peace out
