if my memory hasn't failed me, i do recall your fair share of flaming newbies and therefore being immature as well.

a pot calling the kettle the black?
*
yes i know previously i did that before.. but recently i realized that i should stop all these immature bits and start helping out whenever i can..

if you could just browse to this site.. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-threads.cfm?f=128 , look at how those newbies are being helped out.. senior forumers make newbies feel welcome to ask questions, even tho its stupid.... i guess that's the kind of forum that we should be.. not flamming about and ask everyone to use the search button.. u've helped out.. u've done your bit.. done.. everyone stays happy..

and yes, i know that the spoon-feeding thing is annoying.. but coming to think of it, if you really like something, you surely want others to know more about it.. you explain to them till they understand.. that i think should be the way for iphone lovers to spread their enthusiasm on the iphone.. its a more mature kind of way to to help others out..

i'm open to all flames.. if you disagree, then lets put our arguments in a proper manner..

anyways, that i think is the whole purpose of having a forum..

Jake, you are a Malaysian too. Just because you're in Australia does not make you any better. Please, watch your WORDS and don't say we're not helpful.  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

i know im a malaysian, and im proud to tell everyone that im a malaysian.. but its this whole mentality thing that makes the malaysians look bad sound immature..

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Oct 5 2008, 01:04 AM)
oh well jakesean, unfortunately i'm still in malaysia (drinking her water and breathing her air) and i do not have the chance to enjoy the civility of an australian mindset. no doubt that it will probably takes me years for me to shake off this so-called feeble mentality.
having said that, i would rather much prefer a newbie to do his/her prior research first before asking. because again as far as i'm concerned, if i reckon (using my own discretion of course) that TS has already done his/her homework and still meets a dead end, i'm all up for helping and sometimes requiring me to dig into my own wallet (surely this isn't new amongst members here as i do not command any sort of payment)
hence i do apologise jakesean, because until the time i could finally obtain the chance to step foot in australia and begin mingling with people in the land of good grace, i'm afraid we all have to do this the malaysian way (despite making us look bad sound immature).
*
lets face it.. no offence but your sarcacity truely reflects how most malaysians react to criticism.. some may agree, some may not..

people tend not to see their mistakes when they are in it.. but hopefully sooner or later, they'll realise..

for those who call themselves iphone guru's, (i'm no where near pointing at specific people), u should be ashamed at yourself for not helping out those who seeks help.. if this statement offends you, meaning you are one of them..

i admit, i now feel ashamed previously when someone asked for help, i ignored when i could have helped..

yes, i agree with what you're trying to say..

QUOTE
but at least we can try to educate them with some posting to ask them to Search and Read first.

i agree with this too.. a little of this once in a while is ok, but too much of this isn't gonna work.. this is not a "DONT BOTHER ME, GO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON SUB-FORUM".. the main reason for me raising this is that everyone is asking everyone to search now..

i do not really care about the flamings that will very soon to receive, i am expecting it anyway.. i know what im talking about and i think its time for people to start helping out rather than pushing newbies away..

a real enthusiast will never push someone away if he/she needs help.. no matter how stupid his/her question may sound..

i guess that i should point out that no question is stupid.. the only stupid thing to do is to reply without helping.. e.g. "how do i do this? .. "go search.. theres a search function.. go away.. dont bother me.. "

QUOTE(davidgary73 @ Oct 5 2008, 02:39 AM)
@jakesean

You think that the search button is good once in awhile? My friend, you're so totally wrong.

Google was created as a search portal. If it was to meant to use once in awhile, why are they doing so well? Please, please, please.. think before you say search is only good "once in awhile" and it will be dumb to have a search button on every forum out there.

Again, use your WORDS properly and i reckon you have not been thru life as i can see why you say what you say. Immaturity speaks for it self my friend.

Let's stop here as this will not benefit both newbies and us. Noobs will keep asking noobs questions and i hope you're up to the job. Don't say and not follow up with actions. That's the worst kind of person you can be.

Cheers
*
what part of my "once in a while" in my statement do you not understand? the message im trying to convey here is that some forumers tells newbies to go search for stuff all the time, rather than helping out.. rather than pushing them away, do not reply that thread, or just post a simple link to their solution.. simple, right?

and yes, this is non beneficial to me, nor to u.. but if the message gets sent out right, it will surely benefit the forum and the other newbies that seeks help in future.. not in a "spoon-feeding" way..

QUOTE(TeK_KeN @ Oct 5 2008, 07:16 AM)

from my experience, own research make you more better.
*
i do my own research all the time.. some people don't.. be it lazy or for whatever reasons, i have no idea.. doing your own research does not mean googling all the the time.. sometimes you may need to ask people for help, or in this case, ask your questions on this forum..

honestly jakesean,
you ought to read back your posts (in this thread), because the things that you have said simply don't hold water and shows a hint of hypocrisy.
frankly speaking, as davidgary73 have suggested, you can go ahead and carry on do whatever that you deem is fit but just don't go acting that you are one level more superior than the rest here by dropping your so-called one or two liners of wisdom (when the people here despite flaming newbies, still provide them with a satisfactory answer/solution in the end). hence unless you can do better than that, please keep your derogatory comments to yourself (yes, i know this is a forum and you can argue that it's your God-given right to speak et cetera).
in fact, since you have already decided to turn over a new leaf, i tell you what... from today onwards, whenever a newbies comes in, asking questions (which have already been pinned), i will (alongside with the peeps here) ask them to PM/e-mail you personally. so that you can share your personal enthusiast's touch. of course most importantly you will not be ashamed anymore and probably redeemed your karma for what you have done previously.
*
wow.. u seriously still dont get my point..

The studiomax thread is funny man. Wish i was around to see that guy kena bom.

anyways, i think that we should probably close the case here. yes, it was my idea to help out newbies a little bit more. if that doesnt work out, then probably we could reduce the flammings. but by looking at it, i guess it will not work out here on this sub-forum.. i will admit that you guys win this time..

so jakesean,

since the issue has tentatively been resolved. so who did you think Studiomax was? since you were so positively that it wasn't davidgary73.
*
are u trying to bring this up again? if u are, sorry man, im not interested in it..

nah, for all i care, i have spoken to davidgary and yes, we have agreed to reduce the flamings and help newbies out whenever we can.. u do not need to know who studiomax is.. whether davidgary is studiomax or not, it shouldnt matter u.. u do not want me to bring matters up again, so does davidgary.. whether u are siding him or not, i do not care.

if u do not realise, davidgary has stopped his flammings already.. its up to u guys now to realise..

believe it or not, i'm not bringing it up. davidgary73 has also spoken to me (don't just assume that you the only one with a conscious mind)

hence try to think outside the box because i thought it is cool to ask this question now as i'm merely curious.
*
if you're curios, go do your own research yourself, since u like asking people to go search, now its your turn.... not my job reveal who is he.. not that i have anything against him.. even if i do, why should i bother bringing it up again? im not here to find trouble.. are you?
