2pcs of 512MB ram running in Dual channel mode, and 1pcs of 1GB ram running in single channel mode. Which will perform better? hmm.gif

@ac_N1

Well.. Since dual channel is boosting the performance for sure go for dual channel right? Haha! For 2x or 4x ram i think there will be not much different. Unless ur doing OC. Tested 4x ram dimm on my previous rigs, OC performance is limited thou.

@Klemann C
Did u test ur GC on other rigs? How was it perform? Does it have the same problem?

dual channel smile.gif

512 + 512 = 1024

1024 + 0 = 1024

512 + 512 = dual

1024 - 0 = single

yes, but that's only up till Intel 915 chipset...

from 925 onward, there's Flex Memory Technology in Intel mobo...

Yea. Still consider as single channel. But nvm.. Since this system is not for gaming.. Just need more juice for apps. Lol.. But then still running fine. Feel the real power of single core processor. Just fine tune the system. Haha!

@astria

Flex Memory Technology only applied to Intel mobo or intel chip's base mobo?
