bingooo.... my last installation of a tweaked vista gave me 60fps in CSS benchmark compared to 100fps in xp, same rig, same driver revision. not only benchmarks, but does impact in-game performance.

my 3.0E only can oc till 3.15 when achieve 3.3
my ram can't handle it lol

finally after took out everything and plug back my 2.8c it start to get back normal again. try push to max just now... cant make it to 3.5Ghz, max the vcore also cant help.

just a try of oc then back to stock now. fyi, mine is northy, not prescott. 1.6v for northwood is not so high. and my mobo normally reports higher voltage reading. the temp i get from bios is <40C. hmm..... i wish it can get pass 1k fsb but failed.

some insane ocer have tried >1.8v. thats what i called scary.

kabu,the voltage reporting from your mobo is damn high. I o/c my 2.8C stable around your speed too with default vcore 1.525v. Super PI wise is about the same with you too! Nice o/c job done.

last time worth a try as can gain performance boost in games etc. nowadays even you have 4.5ghz p4 also useless with today's games. our technology too old already. running stock will be the best...

kabu,i feel the slow speed at stock.Not used to run applications below 3.0GHz even not playing games much nowadays.

quite lazy anyway. as my mobo having some cmos issue. even with new cmos battery still like none. so end up it reset everytime i shut off. hmm.....

Max u can go with ya 2.8C is 3.4Gh? Hm.. Sounds abit low as usually low spd proc can be push higher. But then, ya mobo is having problem. I think the result is better then dont have liao.

2.4C to 3.0E had a big improvement for me, just in day to day tasks

i wouldnt want to imagine having 3.4, another 600hz to process something else..

well of course our tech cant match up but it was ground breaking enough to last till today

lets just say Pentium III wouldnt have last 6 years
