@Jcsy ,the timing you posted up at the most bottom is the real timing that you are running in the windows where 2.5-3-4-8 is automatically adjusted from your mobo. The slot 1 - slot 4 timing is the individual timing where they are running indivially with the suggested factory set timing. Do you mind to tell us what's the timing in the bios?

Changing proc from 2.4C to 3.0E won't cause system crashed as the are the same socket.

beta bios give inconsistent results during oc. verified by ctiaw results, mem scores are lower, but sometimes after reboot, higher. now flashed to 1019 official bios, the readings are consistent already. running FSB @212 (3.18Ghz) now, best stable spot I could get. Going any higher than that would give instability results. RAM @ 2.5-3-3-7-8, PAT partially enabled, Turbo mode. Vcore @ 1.575, AGP 1.8V, RAM 1.85V.

Toy cost is 'reasonable'.  laugh.gif

He's not infected. He's in the same lifeboat as I am.  doh.gif

edmin, your AGP is set to 1.8V ? Normal one is just 1.6V only, the agp can stand?Turbo mode is stressing the RAM,i can say all RAM don't like Turbo mode.

This NAS no doubt i use, but @ office, lolx. torrent downloads tried for a week, the speed is ok, normal. No full speed due to QoS on the device, it needs to allocate bandwidth for other users too. Btw, i m not using any magic, but my torrent client able to maximise my downloads, hoho.

At office also can torrent,so good.Mine cannot.

i have encountered such a case, let me share with everyone here:

The external HDD was working fine for 4 years+, never powered off until recently. After powered off for moving it to some other place, it was turned on but the HDD was not being detected in Windows. Indicator lights were on, but HDD was not spinning. Removed the HDD from the casing and plugged directly onto mobo, luckily it works. Suspected faulty casing board, but after checking it was fine. Drilled down to the power adapter, but was extremely skeptical because it did powered the LED indicators, right? Since warranty's over, so WTF, be adventurous and open the adapter.

BaM! Leaked capacitors! The reason why it was working for 4 years+ even though capacitors leaked/blown, is because I never powered down. The capacitors are functioning as a charge up for the circuits. So if you never turn it off, it will still work because it never needs to 'power up'. Replaced the leaked caps and it was working nicely again.  thumbup.gif

Very nice sharing edmin, the external HDD wasn't turned off for 4 years also insane. Culprit here is the capacitor which leaked off, properly those are lausy capacitors.

Your mobo shut down as the faulty 4pin 12V supply. Can it be repair again on the 4 pin? I think is quite hard to repair it. Your current MSI board can't fit in all of the RAM already right?

Should be not a problem to raise it to 3.4GHz,jsut that afraid the heat from CPU..... sweat.gif After clock to certain speed, you might run the Orthos meanwhile can monitor your CPU temp.

@ed
haha..... like you said, the transfer speed is quite noticeable fast for me. wink.gif busy backup as much as i can from my faulty hdd last night.

i direct play left for dead in it no sweat at all. butter smooth. haha..... playing 720hd movies no prob at all..... just 1080hd is lagging due to my cpu even with coreavc. sad.gif now really addicted to hd quality. preferred 720hd movies that suit best for my 19" lcd and oldie P4.
*
HD1080,i think might be a bit hard to our P4.720p movies is just nice to us.

i will try 2 OC tonight, im running prime95 the whole day to test

currently stock temp at 55C load at 70C biggrin.gif

not bad improvement considering previous crappy temperatures smile.gif

our system nowadays play 720P is ok , 1080 is abit over kill d sad.gif
*
idle at 55 degree C ? Wao,seems like hot hot hot.... 1080p movie still acn play, right now i'm not using the coreavc i think. I have installed it but i think my previous klite code is mainly taking over the coreavc job.

QUOTE(edministrator @ Mar 2 2009, 02:35 PM)
good on you, nice 2 see u r back alive and kicking, lol...

1080 can try disabling deblocking option in coreavc, sure helps a lot.

as u know bro, acs 45.1 is lacking in the treble department. i tuned the xfi to suit acs 45.1 sound properties. and i tell u, WOW, treble now is BEAUTIFUL frm the acs 45.1  thumbup.gif

THX bass boost, equaliser & crystalizer are utilised for the sound tuning...hehehe...  icon_rolleyes.gif

I have given the speaker to my borther, right now he's using SB Audigy value card.I listen to the sound quality it is better thab SB live which i used last time.ACS 45.1 is lacked of treble,if not the VS4121 also can't fight with it. biggrin.gif
