QUOTE(Jcsy @ Jan 31 2009, 12:56 AM)
actually if u all consider his main reason

his father is going 2 be using

his father takkan play games, u all suggest some AGP and CPU

for me, the problem with the entire PC is the RAM smile.gif

however, getting RAM now is really difficult coz its expensive, especially our DDR1 333hz or 400hz , even a 1gb or 512mb peice is expensive

btw, yours cannot be DDR2-266 smile.gif it should be DDR1 smile.gif

gotta consider that 300W power supply as well =.=
*
I think his original psu shouldn't be a problem if no o/c.

QUOTE(dlwl @ Jan 31 2009, 09:19 AM)
who knows, maybe his father does play games laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif no offence..
at least his mobo using ddr1 ram, still able to upgrade, mine 2.0GHZ using sdram, and just 2 slots only, wanna upgrade also hard sad.gif
*
laugh.gif Just upgrade the proc to faster speed, can see and feel the difference already.

QUOTE(ravewar @ Jan 31 2009, 10:39 AM)
tarak budget la, taiko...now got some items to get... biggrin.gif

Haha,my proc is very cheap only.

those GC about how much?market price.
my p4.2.4ghz 2gb ram.
can play COD 4 rite?
*
2.4GHz can play but not sure will lag or not.

QUOTE(dlwl @ Feb 1 2009, 04:32 PM)
i think the best bet now is HD2600XT if you're going for brand new, around RM200+ only. The 3850 is still expensive as mentioned, around RM600+. Nvidia 7 series a bit hard to find in the market now, 7300GT only. 7600GT/GS not so sure..
*
Geforce 7 series are hard to get in the market now. 2600XT is the best for you to upgrade if want new card. thumbup.gif 3850AGP i guess is > RM600.

thinking of selling my old P4 set after saw edmin sales :

Abit IC7 Vanilla with complete box set
P4 2.8E only chip no hsf
Apacer 2X1GB complete box
Palit 6800GS complete box retail set

how much can all this fetch?
*
Hi albert, going to let go your system already?I high end board detected. drool.gif

QUOTE(fylon @ Feb 3 2009, 09:37 AM)
Everyone is letting go their P4 now. sweat.gif Guys, albert's ram look juicy man.. lust.gif 2*1GB...

Btw guys, just a quick question. (Lazy to open a thread on technical support tongue.gif) High power consumption on computer system will caused a drop the voltage rail? Found something strange with my system.. As with 8400GS, my 12v rail remain unchanged, but once i plug in 8800GTS my 12v rail drop to 11.8V, +5v become 4.88v. sweat.gif
*
What psu are you using?Usually all rails will drop a bit when load fully.

Another information for other members,i saw there is a Intel 865G mobo selling in All IT Hyper Kajang at only RM95.It's good for those who needs a S478 mobo.

do u know some info about that Intel 865G mobo?
RM95 its brand new? been searching S478 mobo  sweat.gif
*
What info you want to know?I saw the board in All IT Hyper Kajang on Sunday. The shop left only 1 unit and the board should be new, esle won't be putting them in the box.You are hunting for a new mobo?

@fylon,CM iGreen 500W seems like so so on performance. I suspect maybe your mobo does contribute to the drop.

Best bet is a AGP Geforce 7 series, if you can manage to find them.
My P4 3.0E went through countless overheating sessions (during when it was owned previously by someone who didn't know why the PC kept restarting during games  blink.gif), fed lots of voltage, ran at an average of 65 - 75C, 24 hours a day.

Still alive, yes. biggrin.gif
*
P4 3.0E is about 65-75 degree C average? sweat.gif sweat.gif Wasn't that the temp high?

fylon is poisoning edmin already, kena trapped. End up edmin wants to let go his baby already.Hehe, tempting toy to let go ya. wub.gif

Added on February 13, 2009, 2:38 pmJust read the share link,it's nice to see 7600GT beats 8600GT.But that's based on PCI-E card, not AGP. I would expect some performance drops in AGP platform.

Itu hardware part bro. Haha.. But in term of tech, NV7 series is newer. At least SM3.. And build with smaller die. Cooler! But afterall, unless ur bumping ur current x800 to 79GS/HD38 series, otherwise not really a good move to upgrade.

@Ray
AIKZ!! Aku sik poison dia la.. Hahah! I don't i don't! Duh! doh.gif

P/s: Haha.. Jut unfortunately there were no AGP version of 86GT. Afterall, 76GT still a good card no matter in AGP/PCI-E platform. What does concern is, the power and performance. brows.gif Performance drop is most probably due to the HIS bridge chip for converting the PCI-E interface to AGP. But dont think there will be much performance drop.
*
@fylon,sik.... Can't understand la.But still can guess your meaning after seeing your word I don't I don't. laugh.gif Luckily you left me some hints.

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Feb 13 2009, 02:52 PM)
fylon, just wanna know where you read this from? Now at least I can rest easy that my HDD performance would not be as bad as other 7200RPM drives biggrin.gif

Edministrator going for LGA775/AGP combo? Sounds good nevertheless, but why make the small jump? Your upgrade options will be very limited in terms of your video card, unless you want a temporary faster solution for a few years to come.

i7s are coming around the corner, and people would be starting to sell off their Core 2 rigs. If you're lucky you can manage to get nice stuff by then smile.gif
*
@edmin,are you going to move to LGA775 with AGP combo? I don't think edmin is going to move to that. He has a secret rig waiting for him already.

QUOTE(fylon @ Feb 13 2009, 03:36 PM)
Haha.. Bro Highest ATI x19 series for AGP is 1950PRO if im not mistaken. Even P4 been OC to 3.8Gh i think the bottleneck gap still big. sweat.gif Somebody tried before with pairing P4 3.2/3.0 with 8800GT/S.. The score is like shit! tongue.gif
*
How shit is it?At least he can play new games. You all can consult Kah Loon and see.

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Feb 13 2009, 04:07 PM)
then its not worth my investment liao , anything above my X800 on my 3.0 cpu biggrin.gif
*
Clock speed does the matter,o.c your 3.0E to 3.6GHz and above. Then get another 7900GS.

QUOTE(AlexLee277 @ Feb 13 2009, 05:49 PM)

spec:
-P4 2.4"Northwood" FSB533 @ stock

now can post mine on the thread?

i changed all my ram timings to manual 3-3-3-8 and my PC couldnt boot up

i was guessing it was my RAM C that couldnt take the setting, so i pulled out all my RAMs and placed 1 inside, get into bios, set to auto, placed all rams in again and now back 2 lowyat biggrin.gif

EDIT ::

A-512 - 3.0, 3, 3, 8, 2.5V
B-1024 - 3.0, 3, 3, 8, 2.5V
C-512 - 2.5, 4, 4, 8, 2.5V
D-1024 - 3.0, 3, 3, 8, 2.5V

*
I thought most of the mobos are accepting the 3-3-3-8 timing? Strange case.
