QUOTE(ck_spaceboy @ Feb 23 2009, 05:33 PM) frm ur explanation, it seems ur battery life is quite unpredictable..like u say, rebooting will solve the problem then it'll happen again. So perhaps u shud send ur phone for medical check-up.. I think I found the problem. There seems to be a problem with the WiFI wizard. If you scan for wifi from the home screen or using the wlan wizard and then start using the wifi connection. After you stop the scanning, there continues to be an energy spike (about 1W) every 30 secs or so as can be seen by nokia energy profiler. This does not happen if you don't use the wlan wizard for connection. (ie you use the defined access points directly) I already have the latest firmware version.

I noticed that even after I have set WLAN scanning to OFF, the WLAN icon still appears below the battery icon (top RH) Does it mean that the WLAN is still switch ON?

QUOTE(kelvyn @ Feb 27 2009, 11:06 AM) Can anyone share their experience in using the Nokia map? I was told that we have to pay to use this program. Previously, Nokia hp comes with 3 months free usage. Lately, it is only for 1 week. I did not managed to use this and the 1 week period has already lapsed. If the free period has lapsed, can we still view the map, etc without the navigation aid? What are the charges to use Nokia map? RM40 one month and if paying more than 1 year fee is cheaper.

Further investigation show that it's the homescreen wlan app that is causing the energy spike. I disabled it and will monitor if my battery draining problem is cured. QUOTE(thrust111 @ Feb 26 2009, 02:17 PM) Greetings All Would like to ask for help... 1. Any application to enable the Torch Light behind? Can BestTorch or SpotOn work on this phone? 2. Any application to enable the front 3G camera for photo taking... and preferably video taking as well? (E66 is missing the use secondary camera option if I'm not mistaken) Please provide the name so that I can try Google it. Thanks in advance. No one knows the solution? The applications that enable secondary 3G camera or torchlight function?

[quote=kwkean,Feb 28 2009, 08:32 AM] You need to set it Off like this :
I see. So the WLAN icon is to show the availability of WLAN and NOT that WLAN is running. Does it now mean that once I have set WLAN scanning to OFF, then WLAN will not be running until I set them to run again? Thanks

Thanks to "aspire2oo6" for the great news to our Symbian Group of forumer... Thanks for the update. Running on previous version sucks up the battery life. Do we just install it over the previous version? Will the previously saved data like locations, poi, etc be over written? Cheers

Thanks No, if you phone is connected to WLAN, you have to off it manually by closing any active connection in WLAN Wizzard option. WLAN scanning is a feature to search/scan for any active WLAN hot spot then allowed to connect them. You guys got read the manual book or not .
