Hi everyone.
Heard from one handphone shop that if you send your ori nokia for repair and they find that you have install the Garmin GPS software into your nokia phone, they will not repair for you.
Anyone can confirm?

QUOTE(kwkean @ Feb 19 2009, 03:38 AM) Never heard such thing before , which phone shop told you that? Careful, that shop might want to 'buaya' you . The hp shop is sell the Nokia ori set.It is located in IOI mall. He commented when I inquired about what are the software that will be included with the phone. He commented this when I asked if the Garmin GPS software is included. He further commented to remove the Garmin software before sending to Nokia center for repair.

QUOTE(yip_man @ Feb 20 2009, 06:59 AM) So guys 3rd party apps installed on your phone is not an issue for warranty... Nokia only reads their warranty sticker at the back of the phone. If still intact and stick properlly then shouldnt be a problem, if its broken then warranty is void... You are right guys. I totally agree with this. Added on February 20, 2009, 3:03 pmck_spaceboy, The latest firmware that I know is V200..... (Nov 2008) Would you be able to update the information on page one? while searching for the handphone, I came accross the various prices
Ori Zitron from Nokia SC - about RM 16?? Ori Zitron from handphone shops - about RM13?? (everything and warranty as per Nokia SC) AP units from handphone shops - about RM12??
It looks like there is a huge difference in the Ori Zitron hp from Nokia SC and outside shops.

I believe if buy from Nokia SC, then they will set up your hp will all the necessary software plus guiding you with any questions related to the phone.
If you buy from the outside shops, they will not be able to do what the Nokia SC people can do.

QUOTE(khongts @ Feb 22 2009, 12:16 AM) Hi guys, Help!! Anyone that is using Mac computer can help? I just found out that Nokia PC Suite only support Windows XP and Vista. It does not support Mac OS. Thanks in advance. You can try using iSync. This program can easily synchronize the S60-powered phones with the Mac computer. You can also try out this program call Missing Sync http://www.tuaw.com/2008/07/29/mark-space-...nc-for-symbian/

QUOTE(eyesee @ Feb 23 2009, 01:35 PM) The files only refer to Garmin. I did not have Garmin installed. Besides lasting only 8 hours in offline mode & no program running is not normal. A reboot seems to fix the problem until it happens again. Did you charge your battery for at least 5 hours when you first got it? I was told that this is required on the first charge. If this was done and you still experience it, then it could be that the battery is faulty. Have them replace from the shop you bought your hp from. I also noticed that the battery on the E66 does not last as long as other hp.

If like that, have to go back to the shop where you bought the Garmin mobile software and ask them to install onto the 8GB card. 1GB card is not enough. Some more, the phone can use up to 8GB card what...

QUOTE(AhNong @ Feb 26 2009, 04:14 PM) yah i know is limited for white colors but i thought i can do booking but digi not let this thing. they say is first come first serf until is no stock. i not yet playing handfon fully cos i working still. i go to home i put in nokia cd and using. the garmin mobile sd card 1gb i dont know if is enough but i plan buying the 8gb microsd to change when i no use the 1gb. i wan asking if i everytime changing is can spoil the handfon or not ? meaning i taking out and putting in can spoil the handfon or not ? I suggest that if possible, get a 8GB card. Install your garmin mobile onto the 8GB card. You will need this card in the phone all the time when you are using the Garmin GPS. The SD card is delicate, so if you keep taking out and putting in, can affect the the contacts. (between the card and the hp) Furthermore, there is a possibility that you may drop/ misplace the card as it is really small.

Can anyone share their experience in using the Nokia map?
I was told that we have to pay to use this program. Previously, Nokia hp comes with 3 months free usage. Lately, it is only for 1 week. I did not managed to use this and the 1 week period has already lapsed. If the free period has lapsed, can we still view the map, etc without the navigation aid?
What are the charges to use Nokia map?

QUOTE(eyesee @ Feb 27 2009, 01:07 PM) I think I found the problem. There seems to be a problem with the WiFI wizard. If you scan for wifi from the home screen or using the wlan wizard and then start using the wifi connection. After you stop the scanning, there continues to be an energy spike (about 1W) every 30 secs or so as can be seen by nokia energy profiler. This does not happen if you don't use the wlan wizard for connection. (ie you use the defined access points directly) I already have the latest firmware version. How do you switch off the WLAN? I noticed that even after I have set WLAN scanning to OFF, the WLAN icon still appears below the battery icon (top RH) Does it mean that the WLAN is still switch ON?

QUOTE(kwkean @ Feb 27 2009, 01:59 PM) Yes, the icon means your phone is still connected with WLAN. Then how can i switch the WLAN off when i am not using. Need to conserve battery. I find that the E66 battery sucks

QUOTE(eyesee @ Feb 27 2009, 04:35 PM) Further investigation show that it's the homescreen wlan app that is causing the energy spike. I disabled it and will monitor if my battery draining problem is cured. Added on February 27, 2009, 3:37 pmis menu>tools>settings>connection>wireless lan>show wlan availability set to yes? Yes. [quote=kwkean,Feb 28 2009, 08:32 AM] You need to set it Off like this : [attachmentid=822990][attachmentid=822991] I see. So the WLAN icon is to show the availability of WLAN and NOT that WLAN is running. Does it now mean that once I have set WLAN scanning to OFF, then WLAN will not be running until I set them to run again? Thanks

QUOTE(yip_man @ Feb 28 2009, 04:47 PM) Garmin Mobile XT v5.00.30 is out save battery, more stable and faster signal up... Update your phone now guys... My signature have the download link... Thanks to "aspire2oo6" for the great news to our Symbian Group of forumer... Thanks for the update. Running on previous version sucks up the battery life. Do we just install it over the previous version? Will the previously saved data like locations, poi, etc be over written? Cheers
