Currently using CUDA from CoreAVC
Works like a charm wink.gif

CPU usage dropped to 3% to 5% (due to onboard audio) else totally 0% thumbup.gif

Whats your GPU?
Change the video renderer to EVR first, EVR custom presenter need better GPU.
And if the video is interlaced or telecined, the video will prolly render at 60fps which more need more GPU resource.

Second is dont use that codec pack, Windows 7 already comes with h264 + MPEG1/2 + VC-1 decoder with DXVA support.
If your GPU is not nvidia the CoreAVC will use your CPU to decode the video, which is much more slower than Microsoft decoder.

I3 530 cpu frequency is 2.93GHz right? its more than enough already,
Like i said, try to use windows media player to play it first.
Turn off Aero or other fancy effects on windows so your GPU will be less stress during playing 1080p content.

if the problem still there, probably the integrated GPU cant make it, you will need some mid-end GPU like 6670 or GTX 540/550.

Hi Sifus...
this is a 3yr old + discontinue BenQ Netbook VGA out to 29" LCD monitor

playing 720p no problem. but lag-seriously on 1080p when using VLC, GOM & MPC

May i know because it is under-spec? so that i dun have to waste time tweak/tune the setting...

spec:
Display
Natural resolution (max)
1024 x 576 pixels

Graphics hardware
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950

Memory
Amt of RAM
1GB

Motherboard chipset
Intel 945GM

Processor type
Intel Atom

Processor speed
1.6 GHz

Operating system
Windows XP Home

Short answer: yes, its under-spec, basically you will need dual core desktop(core duo 1.8GHz) cpu, or dxva capable GPU(radeon HD2300, nvidia 8400 or better).

intel GMA 950 only have basic dxva for MPEG2, VC-1 and h264 support is missing, and your CPU might be too slow for any other software decoder.
plus playing 1080p on your 1024x576 lcd at fullscreen, the player will need to resize the video from 1920x1080 to 1024x576 the fit the lcd, the player will use more cpu resource to resize the video. (only applies if playing on your laptop)
Try CoreAVC, it's your only hope sweat.gif

its ok, this is not my "main pc" even thought of donate it away to some primary school kid think its enough usage for them. too many under spec for the new technoligy, but still very usable for net browsing, download & work on MS Office old computers flying around at home.. sweat.gif

@debbierowe http://www.mediafire.com/?pov1uwps4jjcd11
u can tried this 1 portable player.. b4 u tried rmb to uninstall all ur previous codec + player

1) drag all the files to any place & dun put elsewhere.
2) lavfilters > double click install audio, splitter, video .bat
3) madflac > double click install.bat
4) madvr > double click install.bat
5) done! u can play ur 1080p

*if u plan to move those files, u must uninstall lavfilters, madflac, & madvr by double click those .bat files only!

Media Player Classic HomeCinema (x86/x64), 1.6.1.4034~39 onwards can't play certain rmvb with cook audio & some other audio..

can't complain at doom forum since **** rmvb!

Actually Madvr is high quality video renderer(read: slow, require mainstream GPU), and it's incompatible with Dxva, playing 1080p will make things worse sweat.gif
If the user's os is Win7 then there is not need all the third party video decoder to play 1080p with Dxva, just Wmp 12 will do if the user GPU is not so ancient. or just mpc-hc alone is enough rclxms.gif

As for the Real video problem, i dont have rmvb samples on my side, how about try this?
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry39961760
Or you could try MPlayer, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry39961760
Mplayer is the most robust player i've ever used, im sure it can playback the real video without much problem.

What hi10p? Dxva with hi10p decoding support?
the current Dxva version does not support hi10p yet, mpc and wmp12 will just give you blank screen if you forced to enable Dxva.

Hi10P 1080p video... i can play it smoothly if i set mpc-hc affinity to 2 cpu, 3.7GHz, absolutely smooth,
or set to 3 cpu with only 1GHz, also smooth but cpu usage is 100% for all cores.
Decoder is Divx7 h264 < fastest free software h264 decoder imho.
Disabling Aero/desktop composition will improve performance, may be.

h264 software-based decoder is pretty fast nowadays, my thuban 3.7GHz can play 4 bluray videos simultaneously, original uncompressed 35Mbps without lag, or playback 7 instance of 1080p compressed(~2mbps) fansub, simultaneously.
decoder is ffdshow, Divx7 sure can do alot better.
While Dxva decoder cant do that, the gpu driver will crash lol.

dxva is a long time issue with either ati or nvidia or intel & also mpc-hc.. i stick with my madVR v0.80 + lavfilters v0.46 as for cpu core i set auto..
