QUOTE(yshiuan @ Jan 16 2011, 09:58 PM) i'm facing some lagginess when playing 1080p with MPC-HC and also real media video, but not with WMP. For DXVA, I recommend at least a 512MB card minimumi only can feel the lag when using DXVA on 1080p video. as for real media i'm not so sure. 256MB can't cut it for total smooth DXVA playback About your RMVB lag, the only thing I can blame is either the decoder or the encoded video itself. What was the CPU usage when viewing the RMVB file? This post has been edited by shinjite: Jan 24 2011, 05:10 PM |

256MB will work, but won't have total smooth experience, thats why I recommended at least a 512MB card
But anyway, GPU with 1GB cards are cheap nowadays, just upgrade and kill all the headaches Tried a friend's old AGP of the HD2600Pro with 512MB RAM, running smooth with DXVA on Windows XP last time This post has been edited by shinjite: Jan 25 2011, 11:55 AM |

QUOTE(yshiuan @ Jan 25 2011, 11:59 AM) quite low, less than 5% i think. I think it is just the settings problem. OK, for your RMVB you are using ffdshow's RMVB decoder?when playing DXVA, gpu memory usage only around 50%. so i dun thk so its gpu's prob. i only notice lagginess in rmvb when using mpc, not with wmp. strange rite? If yes, disable it and download Real Alternative and it will solve your problems GPU at 50% should work then, that should be okay. Maybe you do more testing to confirm because gone are the days of 256MB VRAM, now minimum also 512MB This post has been edited by shinjite: Jan 25 2011, 01:04 PM |

Currently using CUDA from CoreAVC
Works like a charm CPU usage dropped to 3% to 5% (due to onboard audio) else totally 0% |

So whenever you press Alt + Enter for fullscreen, it tends to freeze?
