QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 20 2009, 01:58 PM) Yes, SMS is still at RM 0.10/SMS. Impossible to make it RM 0.01/SMS to other telcos because for every SMS sent to other telcos, some cost is needed to pay by DiGi. If it is RM 0.01/SMS, DiGi is going to subsidise a lot. but only 4 numbers should be ok right

Just noticed that the Celcom + Streamyx RM108 deal is gone (I even got the form the other day but I'm told that it's gone 3 days ago, wtf?). And now I have to hunt for a new deal. I'm on UOX now, and my school is not listed in the participating universities and colleges list. My sister is studying in one of the participating university, but she will be graduating next year.
If I use her name to port my UOX to DiGi Campus, what would happen after she graduate? The expiry data will be 4 years after service activation or they will know when you will graduate and terminate the plan accordingly? For now there is no more in zone or off zone for all calls and sms-es? I will be studying at Batu Berendam. Heard that EDGE speed is acceptable in MMU, hope it will be good too in Batu Berendam.

The bolded part is the correct one.

Nice. This way I won't feel bad dropping my UOX. The fresh graduate plan is for the 5th year since service activation, regardless you're studying, working, dropped out or just anything?
They do accept port in from any other network straight to this plan? What are the procedures? The free unlimited data after RM30 usage is really unlimited? With no string attached like speed throttling, FUP or anything like that? I can on 24/7 without any intentional disruption from DiGi?

I think only selected outlets allow you to do direct porting to DiGi Campus. Yes, totally free unlimited, no FUP, no speed throttling. I'm using it now. But I advise you to start using it in August because it is counted every month's 1st. So, if you try it now, you will only have few days left before July ends.

The data is EDGE only or will switch to 3G as long as there is coverage? Also, all the rates are nationwide right? No more on-campus off-campus thing? If there is still on-campus off-campus then I can forget about it already.

Can I still receive calls when I go online? I plan to use my phone as modem to go online using my laptop. When I'm out, I can use my phone itself to go online. All without the need to worry that calls will not reach me?

It is always advisable to get a dedicated modem, I'm using one now.

How much does it cost? Trying to keep cost low, that is why I'm happy to know that it's a all-in-one sim card, as I can use my phone for everything.
Won't a dedicated modem be too inconvenient? You have to plug your sim card in and out.

As for calling and others, I have my DiGi Ambassador postpaid line.

Ambassador? Sure you are It should be fine even if the internet connection will disconnect when there is incoming calls, at least that means that I can setup push email to my phone, and all day long auto Twitter update. After the call ends the EDGE will auto reconnect? Too bad the Digi customer chat is only open for existing Digi customer. Would be nice if they open it for everyone else, has great potential to pull in more customers.

Well, that is you are using D' Chat. For general line, you can call 016-2211800. Of course normal call rate applies if you are not using DiGi number to call it, else it is free if calling from a DiGi number.

Before that you need to fulfill two criteria: 1) Your university/college is one of the participating universities. 2) Below age 25 Even if you have exceeded 25 during the 4 years validity, you are still possible to use it. Just that when you register for it, you must be below 25. That is my understanding anyway.
