yup..........the article doesn't tell the whole story.
those "chosen" example on the article r all nvidia optimized games, except for call of juarez.
all the result r taken from techpowerup review of 4830.
go techpowerup & check out the original review.
4830 is better den 88/9800gt..................not by much. just a hair ahead dat u'll barely notice.
the problem is not 4830 under performing, is the price.

as for overclocking, 4830 does inherit the heast issues from its older brother so overclocking dis card wit reference cooler wont do u much good.
same goes to 88/9800gt. if u hav SLI board u can slap 2 of those in ur system.
if wanna compare, crossfire scale worst den SLI coz crossfire has poor support.

btw, good new for ATI is, dey already hav blizzard on their side, & now dey r talking to Valve who is really interested wit crossfire multi GPU support.

y dun u run vantage.
ur 4870 shud b able to reach ~10k

so i guess the "real" 4830 will b a bit more powerful.

but honestly speaking, 3dmark06 is more interesting 2watch wen its running.

depends on wat setting & resolution u run.

mine score 10k+ on performance setting.............

try OC ur GPU clock to 865 & c............
i refer to GPU score, although my overall score also 10k+..........................
i dun own a 4870x2.
my fren from dis forum told me his 4870x2 score last time. it was 9k+ almost hit 10k @ performance setting.

i OC using the CCC only.
although my bios is modified, i modify the fan speed only, no vmod.

may b u shud try different bios.

i'll say it is bcoz RM is falling fast..........

sapphire 4850 uses their own blue pbs which is a bit shorter den normal 4850.

nikel plated is just pure cosmetic.....................

OC done in xp coz there is problem installing ati tray tools in 64 bit vista.......
currently switching bck 2 8400gs (till next week) coz not playing game.

c'mon, even if u buy another pc wit 4870x2 OC & qx9650 OC, it won't increase as much as 100 bucks.

think again b4 installing the far cry 2 hotfix.
there is some report on the hotfix being buggy result in missing texture & transparent rock.
in short, it sacrifice IQ for FPS.

i tested my crysis warhead also just now.
i loaded my previous save game. 2 my surprise, the graphic looks ugly, looks like setting has & resolution has been tune down 2 minimum level & also frame rate is chocking.
but i cut go 2 the setting option, reset all the graphic setting, go bck in2 the game & everything is ok bck wit smooth frame rate..........

i put gamers setting on 1280*1024 resolution wut 4xAA, as my spec on my siggy. everything is as smooth as butter.
but wen i leave my q6600 @ stock speed, i can feel chocking a bit.

its 2*2gb.
just normal cheppo RAM.
i bought from Viewnet, add 5 bucks got 1 year 1 to 1 exchange.
