1) monitor refresh rate
2) other h/w bottleneck
3) unstable OC

c'mon, anything >30fps is also good already...............

last time i ply assassin's creed wit 3870, works fine.
play again once move to 4870, also no problem................=.=

agree, human eyes can really notice the lag once fps drop bellow ~20.
dats y 30fps is always consider smooth..........................
u wont differentiate if the game run @ 30fps constantly vs. 60fps constantly...........
but ~25 will feel the slowdown.

u'll notice wen during those "slow" part of the game.

like example a game is running @ 30fps, may b during intense firefight will drop to ~20.
where if a game running @ 60fps, it drop to may b 40 - 50fps.

it is ahead of 4870, but just by a hair, not pwned.
performance depends on title.

i dunno where u c such reviews.
there is such reviews dat show gtx260 pwned 4870 nicely, but those site r by "nvidia's people".
its simple, all dey hav 2 do is only display result for those title which ran faster on nvidia card coz it is heavily nvidia optimized.

same can be done wit the opposite side (ATI).
like in bioshock, ATI GPU pwned nvidia kaw kaw.

btw, bare in mind dat gtx260 is more exp.
also, ATI has not done any optimization in driver since 8.8, only bugs fix.

looks like i bought the right card.

so far, 3 months using my 4870, performance nvr let me down & best of all, i can say it doesn't suffer price depreciation.
hope the price wont drop so much until next round of GPU war.

last time (3870), i lost ~RM550 just after 7 months..................x_x
