best chipset u can get wit dat budget is p35 but u hav 2 giv up pci-e 2.0.
u can go for g43 but if me, i'll rather wait for p45 price drop.

u won't fell the different in gaming unless u using multiple gpu setup.
however, pci-2 2.0 will b a good investment if u plan 2 stick 2 the board 4 long.
& not 2 mention better resale value.
its job is 2 kick 8800/9800gt ass @ lower price.

i won't b playing far cry 2 now, will wait till december, after my exam....................
& i dun own a >24" monitor.
well, if i wanna ply now, i could always slap on another 4870 in crossfire............

yeah, u can say dat. my 2 previous GC b4 3870 was nvidia also.
i learn dis from watching world war documentary. support the weak side, let dem hav n nvr ending fight so u can just benefit from being the middle man.

i nearly went 4 phenom wen it release but change my mind last second. now, i'm glad i din't.
i already swear my next system will b AMD but it will hav 2 wait till AMD actually came out wit a processor worth buying & also new socket.
my prediction of 5k series:
1) improved architecture on 4k
2) die shrink, more shader, cooler gpu
3) faster clock speed so it doesn't bottleneck ddr5.
i dun think so.
i'm actually pretty disappointing wit 4830.
doesn't kick any ass, just a hair in front of 88/9800gt.

well, crysis is nvr been ATI games. it is heavily optimized for nvidia card.

1 thing i learn from years of observation.......................
h/w will nvr b as powerful like rumors suggest b4 it is release.

lets look @ the latest example.
hd 4870 was rumor to beat 9800gx2 wit 1.4x the performance.
also, it is rumor 2 hav 1ghz clock speed. den rumor drop to 900.

eventually, 4870 launch @ 750mhz, doesn't kick 9800gx2 ass. but it is still a awesome card given the price.

my 4870 @ 865/950 idle @ 30 -35c.
100% load nvr more den 45c......................
& not even air-con room.

accelero twin turbo.
50% on idle & 100% on load.........barely hear it.
best dual slot solution...........

my bios is flash to ASUS TOP. so default already 815/925
anyway, overclocking 4870 GPU pays more den OC memory coz 4870 already hav blazing fast ddr5, just the GPU clock bottleneck.
u can try ATI tools, Ati Tray Tools or edit the bios using RBE.
i do suggest people 2 use the ASUS TOP bios since it is OC @ 812/925 & @ the same time cooler & uses less power.

no harm really...................
no matter how u screw up also...............still can recover, not like mobo bios.

i screwed up once b4.....................i manage 2 safe my 4870.
