i think the fashion of wearing tights or leggings will never be out as there is always winter and fall seasons every year that needs tights or leggings to go along with the clothes as the weather is very cold.

but of coz we don wear it all the time ......there are different kind of leggings depending on the fashion season. I use to buy the leggings at sungai wang last time, but i found the quality so so only.

however, i happened to note from the China Press newspaper that published about a blogspot that sell different kind of leggings. So i have tried them up and the quality is better than those available in sg wang. The website is as below:

http://fullovesiew.blogspot.com/search/lab...ngs%20180%20DEN

Please share with me if you happen to see any leggings or tights that share the same quality and are cheaper than this website smile.gif

My objective for shopping : value for money...smile.gif

regards,

Judy

the quality and price of hosiery are proportional to each other thus cheap ones won't last for long and good quality ones won't be cheap
the problem is, in msia, hosiery is not a popular thing, thus it's really hard to find quality hosiery unless if you manage to find someone who imports them from overseas (european countries , US, Japan & Korea) - i think someone did it before in LYN garage sales section
those made in china hosiery are really dirt cheap but the quality is really bad and it won't last for long
probably you can try ebay smile.gif

I am sorry, but I am not quite sure.
I do know that there are few hosiery designs at one retail shop in Times Square,KL.
But not quite sure if they sell seamed ones.
I am not quite sure of the quality there too.
*
blush.gif Oh I found some seamed stockings on the local ebay stores. Perhaps you could get to have a look. The one showing on the picture is the retro style with seamed line attached. And the other is more to cuban heel icon_idea.gif
Im also looking for 1 in thigh high fashion as my collection.

smile.gif Why dont you try on thigh high stockings or over the knee instead of knee hi. nowdays, a lot of girls wear black stocking in thigh hi like Japanese cosplay. rolleyes.gif

I usually get my stuff from StockingsHQ at www.stockingshq.com
At times they offer free shipping worldwide.
They have plenty of hold-ups selection and pantyhose too.

All the best!

i guess tights, pantyhose, leggings etc are not popular in msian culture due to the hot weather
they are more common in countries with colder climate

thanks everyone for putting in some ideas. i think that hosiery business is still unpopular in malaysia. I myself spent roughly RM100 on hosiery each month. used to wear them with skirt. smile.gif Been wearing some good quality ones, very comfy and smoothen out the looks. I love those patterned ones, I've tried wolford pantyhose, they were marvelous but very pricey. Usually wear them to clubbing and important occasions. tongue.gif Girls, come on, sure there r some of u that still love fashion tights/pantyhose. Give us some of ur idea.

I am new here, I was reading the thread with interesting feeling. I like to share my experience and I am not selling hosiery for living.

Some wanted fancy looking tights, some thought of it as passing trend, too hot and humid for our country, mostly for the sake of fashion, some thinking of it as business, as for me, is more of necessity . I wear pantyhose on daily basis, it was troublesome initially , some younger colleague even thought of wearing skin color hose as being old lady. Wearing pantyhose as professional wardrobe is more like dying arts.

In my late 20s, few years ago, I took on job involves in consulting and marketing. Where I was on my feet most of the time. Company has guidelines of female staff wearing hosiery all the time, and no exception, matching dark suit pants or skirt, knee length. As for hosiery, only two colors allow, black or skin tone and no other color, no fancy looking patterns, we meet customers almost on daily basis. I know some of you boys out there must be fantasizing about OL, don;t even think about that.

Initially was quite a nag, I used to buy cheap brand that ripped easily. At some stage, keeping an extra pair in my handbag was never enough, I also avoid black color pantyhose and opted for skin color, in case it runs, at least not too obvious. Price and brand do make a big different.

I was fortunate enough to have opportunity to travel to US a few times, where I bought some US brand (no wolford and anything pricey o designer ), I bought Hanes Alive support and Leggs active support, around U$7 a pair. It was very lasting, and interestingly, it is where I discovered benefit of support hosiery. Being on my feet all the time can be very helpful wearing support pantyhose, it hugs the leg very well and make you feel less tiring. Only 1 warning, it took some effort to pull them on, believe me..

Incidentally, I got to know some flight attendant while in US, they were the one recommended Hanes support to me. I also asked a flight attendant friend before, she sold me Kolotex shear relief from Australia, she and her colleague using it all the time. It was quite good, very lasting , and compress leg well at lower ankle region. Actually, Kolotex relief packaging cover features two flight attendants !

I usually dislike very high heels, (~ 2inches), worn with support hose, quite refreshing even at the end of the day, , much less tiring leg. An important reminder is, support hose comes in sizes, you need to know well about the right size when buying them, the cheap brand that claims one size/free size fits all never worked, one size over is usually ok.Good quality durable pantyhose usually has higher spandex content, makes it more stretchable.

The second part of the story, hot and humid. That is how I noticed the design of pantyhose from overseas, it has nice special crotch design between two legs , those cheap brand made locally usually lacked that feature and ripped between legs easily. There were some brand that comes with knitted panty pattern, yes, it was supposed to be worn without panties , at least I never believed that before I was told by the flight attendant friend (please don't get wrong idea about flight attendant). In hot humid condition, yeast infection usually thrives in moist environment. The best is leave them ventilated without extra panties in between, sorry guys, it's about female hygene education time. Wearing panties below also leave the pantyhose to slide down much more easily, yes, pantyhose worn in direct contact skin makes it stay up much better . Some ladies complain a lot about after lunch, pantyhose is almost down to knees, makes walking difficult.

Many ladies, myself included used to think that pantyhose was like a pair of sock to be worn before flying out of the door, actually, the best way to wear pantyhose is before even wearing anything, best done in front of full length mirror, seated prperly . Usually not properly pull up or twisted leg makes it uncomfortable to wear. I used to struggle pulling my hose obscured by skirt, after sometimes, tearing it instead. I realized that some effort is usually needed to roll the leg part and pull it up properly to cover the body, after that do a thorough inspection in mirror front. To me, I began to appreciate the benefit of pantyhose only when I managed to wear them properly and tried out decent quality .Even with suit pants, I usually prefer support pantyhose over knee hi, knee-hi left nasty looking marks after full day of wearing.

Pantyhose for me is more than just cosmetic feature to conceal imperfection or wardrobe formality, it gives me nice feel of support and comfort too. When I travel, it provided extra layer of warmth.

As for the brave man that resorted to wearing pantyhose, I have nothing but praise, yes, you are free to wear anything you like, for your own benefit.

rclxms.gif maysee82, you raised a lot of good points there.
I've been lurking around but never posted...

I can attest to the benefits as mentioned by maysee82.
I am a guy who like to wear hosiery...and I agreed that wearing support pantyhose does help relieve your legs, whether you are sitting or standing long hours.

Used Kolotex before, very good brand, so as to Leggs & Hanes. The bizwalker used by the JAL flight attendant is good as well.
I owe few pairs of WOlford...what can I say besides wow!! It's worth the money, but I am very careful with them so to avoid any runs.

gnoelhot,
thx for your kind compliments & PM. I have come across some pantyhose designed for man "anatomy" while surfing net, so it said, you might want to check it out. Try google "comfilon", or collanto, ..

kelly,
my little secret, blush.gif I did that too in the past and was still way too hot and constrictive, not to mention visible PL , until I got those cotton crotch design ones and decided to try it .
Sad that the cheaper local brand & collection seems to lack that feature..completely,, even though it is needed most here in tropic climate..also,it seemed to completely missed the point of being "support", some of it are just too under-size ! Makes it easy to rip and slide down. Costing more $$ and worry .
Not that I did not like local brand, they completely undo themselves not understanding customer need, putting off those really wanting to buy them. Having said that, many bought from china and just re-brand, those cosmetic hoses are cheap and ok, usually sold in dozen.
But for me, having it easily ripped and run is the last thing to worry about when meeting my customers.

Too bad girls nowadays lack knowledge like these, I think most of them don't even have a pair of pantyhose in their wardrobe and do not even know how to put it on the correct way. To them, it's just another troublesome clothing that shouldn't be worn at all unless forced to. At the same time, the weather is always there to be blamed - hot and humid. No demand in the pantyhose market means it's dying out slowly and quality hosiery manufacturer won't even bother to market their products here.
I admit, me myself who is similar to gnoelhot, likes to wear pantyhose and admire girls who know how to appreciate them. I think it's the nylon gene in me.
Without the public acceptance it's gonna be hard for us, but thanks to the internet, I know I'm not alone but at the same time, I know it's not widely accepted yet, especially in asian country where people tends to think traditionally. I've seen both supporting and demoralizing web post/blogs etc saying it's a big no-no. Please bear in mind, men have legs too. whistling.gif
At least there's one man here who has done quite a lot for the community, Steve. This is his blog - http://www.nylongene.com/ and he is currently marketing the hosiery designed specially for men by Activskin and Gerbe. If not mistaken, he's been on TV and radio talk show where he was being interviewed on the hosiery made for men.

Trend follower or trend setter? It all up to you. smile.gif
