I am in dilemma(all are so attractive), please choose the best telco for me...
*
all are so attractive? yeah maybe soo.. but i dont think hotlink is attractive at all, in fact that is the most expensive prepaid in town hmm.gif

no worry, you can switch to UOX at anytime (eventhough you just switched to maxis today).. as long as you're below 26 years old..

this morning when i open my handphone i found that my hotlink sim card has no line
so i change to celcom sim card, i found that my porting is finally successful.

However, I do not receive any sms to ask me change the sim card?
Is it because My phone is closed?

Celcom will not deliver any sms send to me when my handphone is closed even i open my handphone?
how to open celcom misscall notification?
*
some people received notification sms, some other didnot.. but once u notice that your old line is no longer active, that mean you can switch to your new simcard..

celcom miscall notification is active by default. as long as you're subsribing to their voice mail service..

hye,im a new user of uox.I just wanna ask a question, how if my uox sim card is missing, and its already expired, can i get the old number back if i go to celcom centre and aplly for it ? Is there any charge ?
*
if it missing, you can request a new simcard (with same number).. if its expired (credit), you still can request new simcard (with same number).. but if its already exceeding the grace period (100 days after credit expired), then u cannot request simcard replacement anymore.. need to apply a new number..

for charge, if you're old celcom users (use that number for more than 1 year), no charge apply.. for example, im using my xpax number since 2006. so far i already request simcard replacement twice, and another request for simcard upgrading.. none of it charge, its free.

but if you're new celcom user, you have to pay rm5.00 fee for a simcard replacement/upgrading.

uox/sox are now easy to get.. not like before, need to wait their roadshow only.. you can now get it at hq, branches, blue cube, etc.. even yesterday i found uox/sox at celcom booth (kl sentral). last week, i register sox for my nephew at some phoneshope (i believe one of celcom authorised dealer) at kluang, johor..

or you can simply order it online, if im not mistaken some people are selling it online (illegaly)..

im a new user of uox
when i first time topup my uox , i just got 23 day validate
and i did't receive rm10 free topup like they said
why this problem happen ?
and what i need to do ?
*
to get rm10 free airtime, you need to reload within 24hours upon activation.. normally it will credited within 24hours after you made your reload..

for the validity, you have to visit nearest Celcom branches to verify your personal details.. dont forget to bring along your MyKad as a proof..

happy if cheaper if you only make very long call... if you make 60sec call for example, already 60cent gone doh.gif

was considering changgin to  UOX. but none of my friends using it =(

you must start the 'reformation'.. start changin now..

just like me, i was among the first member of UOX (known as Xpax University at that time) in late 2007.. but now, after more than one year, more than half of my collegue are also using UOX..

simply ask them to join uox, and show them how cheap it is.. try to make a call in front of them and after that say 'oh my god, so cheap, after talking so long only deduct less than $$$' haha.. or simply send sms to them and say, 'hey im sending u a sms for only 6sen, why you sending me sms for 15sen' lol..

and try to chat with your gf/bf in front of them.. and pretending you doesn't know the rates and say, 'what? only half-cent per sms.. so damn cheap!' haha thumbup.gif

About verifying our uox number, can we just go to blue cube or we must go to celcom office to verify? Anyone have verified in bluecube?
*
need go to branches.. can't do at bluecube.. bluecube is just their dealer, not their service centre.. even the bluecube staff also not working with celcom.

I'll be back to my hometown in Bentong, Pahang for CNY. Anyone knows if there's any 3G coverage there?

Also, how do I use my N82 + Celcom 3G to online on my laptop? If possible, without the use of PC Suite, it sucks. Sometimes it'll detect my phone, sometimes not.
*
bentong got celcom 3g coverage since 2nd quarter last year.. (HSDPA signal only available at town centre, while 3G signal available at the rest of the town and nearby area).

more info, visit http://myblog.qubixdesign.com/2008/11/17/h...gprs-coverages/

*what a nice co-incident, the example screenshot of the 3g map is actually showing bentong map lol laugh.gif

about the modem, i think you can try connect internet using BlueSoleil software.. where u can dial internet directly via bluetooth connection. (but your PC/laptop must have bluetooth device - either built in or external device)

rm6 is promotion rates, only valid till 28 january.. then back to normal rates rm8/24hours

QUOTE(laksamanahangtuah @ Jan 19 2009, 07:27 PM)
can UOX sim change into 3G sim??? is it will change the rate??? or still with UOX plan???
*
yup, can.. just visit any celcom branches and upgrade your sim.. rm5 charge apply for upgrading purpose (free if you're had being with celcom more than 1 year already).. your current UOX plan will become UOX 3G in account status.. all call/sms rates are still the same..

QUOTE(-Teddy- @ Jan 19 2009, 08:07 PM)
I've followed a guide and set up a dial-up connection to make my N82 a modem. A few questions:

  • RM8 per day, from the moment I activate the service then expires exactly 24 hours later?
  • What's the speed?
  • After activating the RM8 per day, no matter how I connect to the internet it won't charge extra? I'm afraid going into the wrong mode then got charged per kb.

*
- yup, exactly 24hours after your request sucessful.. they will alert you 1 hour before its expired.
- the maximum speed is 384kbps (if you're in 3G coverages)
- make sure you received a notification sms saying that your request is succesfull.. but sometime they just activate it without any notification.. to be safe, just check your status by typing sms BROADBAND STATUS and send to 28882.

One of my friend recently port to CEP50 from hotlink 017,but now that i told him UOX is more worth it he wanted to port to UOX is it possible ka?

CEP50 port to uox directly can ka? Or need to port out first?
*
unfortunately cannot.. you may try to port out first (however, so far i didn't see anyone try this yet). this actually happen to some of frens too, they port to CEP50 because they didn't know that UOX is better..

guys i went to a celcom branch last week. at midvalley if im not mistaken. i asked the guy why my credit validity is still like normal plan. and the guy said that, only the number wont expire until im over 25 but the credit validity is still like normal. before this, ppl told me that my credit wont expire until im over 25. now im confused which one is true  blush.gif
*
dont get confuse.. it mean your credit wont expired till you're 26 years old..

QUOTE(fiqz4ce @ Jan 20 2009, 01:21 AM)
hello...
just wanna ask few questions..

1. does upax is already 3g activated?
- im so curious bcoz when i go to penang, i saw 3g icon on my hp..

2. what is mean by no credit expire?
- is it mean no validity period?? or the credit just dont expired?

i think thats all.. thanks..

Added on January 20, 2009, 1:21 amuppss.. sorry.. dont read the post above.. so thats mean the validity period still the same?
*
1. its not 3g activated by default, you need to upgrade to 3g simcard first.. however, if you're porting from maxis/digi/umobile to UOX, you may request 3g simcard straight away..

2. no credit expired mean, you can use your available credit at anytime without worries about it will expired.. you can reload rm10 today, and keep it till next year for example but still can use.. it wont expired.. only expired after you're 26 years old.

* again, for those people who their credit still got normal validity.. you need to visit celcom branches, and verify your mykad, personal info, etc.. then only celcom will give you this special credit validity..

im using both CEP50 (as primary line) and UOX (as 2nd line)

UOX is better than CEP50 in term of:

- sms, CEP50 sms rates 12sen FLAT, while UOX sms rates 1sen on-net and 6sen off-net
- 8pax, CEP50 doesnt have 8pax, compare to UOX can enjoy special rates 10sen/min call and half-cent per sms to 8 favourite number
- comitment fee, CEP50 required you to use minimum rm50 everymonth, while no minimum usage for UOX users

however, CEP50 has advantages

- up to 30% discount on monthly bills (the call rates as low as 10.5sen/min FLAT - after consider discount)
- everyone can sign up (no maximum age)
- can sign up for supplementary line and enjoy free call/sms/mms/video call between supp line

I'm waiting for the validity date to be updated. It will be cool if they have a topup bonus, I guess I'll wait a while then before making my reload. This is my first time ever having/using a Celcom line. biggrin.gif
*
for new uox users, they only give you rm10 free credit when you reload rm10 exactly within 24 hours upon activation..

other credit bonus you may enjoy is monthly bonus, but its soo little.. im not quite remember how much is it, its something like 3% (of total usage) if monthly usage rm50 and above..

and another one is suprise bonus.. this special bonus usually only available on selected special day (such as hari raya, CNY, depavali, even on general election day last year). i think this is the biggest bonus, for example reload rm50 and got free rm20 credit on the spot (within 24 hours).

i think after reach 26 years old, most people will upgrade to celcom postpaid or port to other operator.. who want to use the expensive prepaid plan (such as xpax or blue)
