nope, it based on subsribtion.. just dial *118# and select 'Celcom Broadband' from the menu to subsribe.. your credit will be deducted rm8 then u can start surfing on ur phone or using ur phone as a modem to surf on the PC/laptop. your unlimited access will be valid for 24hours.

for example, u subsribe on 4pm today, then u can start surfing until 4pm tomorrow. however, D8 is a 3G only package.. so the maximum speed is 384kbps only.

yup, it is really 24hours. usually a confirmation sms will be sent after you subsribe it via *118#. once u received it, then enjoy ur unlimited surfing for 24hours. You can check your subscribtion status at anytime by typing BROADBAND STATUS to 28882 so u know when ur subscribtion will expired.

Usually, a warning sms will be sent to you an hour before your subscribtion expired. after it expired, normal data charges 10kb/10sen applied. so be carefull.

*this D8 data package only open to celcom prepaid/postpaid customer with 3G sim only. so, if u r using non-3G card u wont be able to subscribe it.

as far as i know, UOX starter pack come with normal simcard. u have to upgrade it to 3G at any celcom branches.

i think its free, becoz i upgraded my UOX simcard early this year, no charge.

to check wether you are 3G customer or not, simply check you balance by dialing *124#.
if the plan show 3G UOX, then your simcard is 3G.

For example, if 3G users
Balance 013XXXXXXX: RM8.80, valid until 21/09/2012, tariff plan 3G U.O.X

else, non 3G users (need to upgrade simcard 3G)
Balance 013XXXXXXX: RM8.80, valid until 21/09/2012, tariff plan U.O.X

yeah, nowadays 3G phone are cheaper.. few hundreds rm already can get it lah.. at least, can make video call with your love one.. haha

i get my UOX during celcom roadshow at my campus last year (2007).

by the way, i think bluecube doesn't offering UOX registration.. maybe UOX dealer/promoter team only 'tumpang' at bluecube outlets to distribute UOX. same case with me when i bring one of my fren to register UOX last few days at kl sentral blue cube.

the blue cube staff told me that, the promoter already go back.. please come again within few days.. but i see the banner and UOX brochure still there, but no promoter/dealer.

simply go to http://www.bluecube.com.my and select store location for details.. you can get their phone number, and fax number for each celcom blue cube branches.

so make call first, asking about wether UOX available or not before u go.

we can't compare new prepaid digi with celcom UOX. celcom UOX is a special plan for student.. if want to compare, you must compare Digi D'Campus with UOX, but still cannot beat UOX.

if u want to compare Digi new prepaid, you should compare it with Celcom new prepaid too, ie Celcom Blue. But of course, Celcom Blue can't beat Digi New Prepaid..

*before this, i made comparison between UOX, Dcampus, and Hotlink Campus Zone..

UOX for 18 - 25 years old
SOX for 13 - 17 years old

rates for UOX and SOX are the same.. except for credit validity.. UOX credit wont expired until you're 26 years old while SOX credit wont expired until you're 18 years old.

so, SOX is a UOX for under 18. both are same actually.

old UOX starterpack contain rm5 credit.. but new UOX starterpack come with 0.15 only.. by the way, please call first before going to any bluecube outlet, ask them wether UOX/SOX available at that time..

i dont think they will take all your credit.. i think they will only migrate your UOX plan to normal Xpax plan, and bring together all the credit.

how can i try, i need to wait until i turn 26 years old which is on 2012 lol..

yesteday, going to sungei wang plaza and low yat.. UOX promoters are available at both (sg wang & lowyat) bluecube outlets..

yup, you can reload any ammount and spend it at anytime since it wont expired until you're 26 years old...

yeah, mine too has a expired date.. its on 21/09/2012.. if your expiry date is earlier than expected (before you're 26) that mean something goes wrong with your prepaid account, i believe the promoter/dealer who processing your registration form didn't submit the form together with your mykad properly to celcom for validating purpose.

it is recommended for you to check with celcom, go to any nearest celcom branch to validate your mykad.

so far no charges yet..

if you can't wait then u can register SOX, SOX is for 12-17 years old.. the rates are same with UOX.

yup, you need to upgrade the simcard in order to use 3G services, including video calls.

very unlikely to happen..

last year, they said they will deduct rm3/month access free (but free for the first three month)..
then early this year, i notice that TnC has been remove from their website, so everyone believe they wont charge rm3. But recently, i found that the rm3 fee back in their TnC..

but, since im using UOX last year.. so far never been charges any fee yet.. not sure if they implement it in the future..

erm, i notice at their website.. maxis/digi/umobile users may now port their number to celcom UOX/SOX..

so, my question is.. if 012/014/016/017/018 allowed to switch to UOX/SOX with their original number, why 013/0148/019 user cannot convert their number to UOX/SOX? its not fair to current celcom users.

or it can now?

regarding on my comparison table (at the first page).. it still valid or there're some changes? if i not mistaken hotlink call rates has been change, can someone confirm it? so i can edit the tables.. and if there're any other changes please let me know.. i want the table is up to date.

1. yup, u may convert your Hotlink number to UOX under MNP and keep your 012 number
2. yup, there is no expiry date until you're 26 years old.. your credit is always valid to use at anytime..
