Already received the card fr Lehteck last week yet still no credit given..
Quite bz rite now.. Anyway for all of u guys, Lehteck is surely a very nice trader that i want to recommend him to everyone.. Still got time 2 reply ur sms no matter when u send him any.. Is it 2 much a credit?.. Nah.. That's just truly the good side of him..

The card is awesome, i mean it looks awesome at least.. Barely heard the fan's spinning.. Really effective heatsink n fan, still managed to keep the temp under 60C under heavy load.. 8-pin power 4 better stability i think..

Actually i'm having a prob to put a stress onto it coz i don't know any non-1st person view games that really demand 4 GPU.. Right now i'm playing Tiberium Wars @ highest setting n it runs VERY PERFECT.. Still waiting 4 CnC Red Alert 3 touted to be the best CnC ever..

So u guys, if u have any recommendations on any games that really push the the card to its limit, plz let me know alrite.. Most important : NOT A 1ST PERSON VIEW coz i hate it untill now.. In the future i don't know.. In any reviews there are the likes of Crysis, Call of Duty 4, World in Conflict, Unreal Tournament which are all 1st person view.. Too Bad duh..

Bought 4850 GS in the mentioned period of time and experienced many crashes, black screens in GAMES, benchmark softwares... I did all the stuff as did "Tech1310..." Now he's happy with his new card, hopefully!
And now the card is on the way back and I will get a new one soon. And I want a good one this time.

So Question: in your opinion are we also facing the same problem in Europe with this instable chip fitted on some cards between the 15 to 10 sept?
Is there any official com ready to be released by Gainward on this if we are also affected?

Wow, all the way from France. Netraid is gainward distributor in Malaysia, i think all the gainward card are coming from the same factory. Need comfirmation from Netraid also..

Don't want to see Netraid and get a new card... Too far!! Even if Malaysia is a nice place to come.
I'm sure Netraid will have an answer. also, I asked Gainward Germany for some explanations.

Well I suppose because when you google 4850 GS it will show LYN as one of the results .

Stef41, the newer batch should not have problems IMO. My friend's was rock solid but mine was a little unstable, but since the distro agreed to change so I'll be arranging for it soon . Thank god we had a reliable distro here in Malaysia.

It took me some minutes to understand "LYN" using google...
If you mean "massage" it's a Good joke... Also a good idea because you know with this card I'm a bit stressed. Probably Netraid will give 1 card + 1 massage stage for free to all of their favorites (and rich) customers...

I also got those blackouts prob 3-4 times since completing my rig for about one week ago, but at 1st i thought that was my asus epu 6 engine that causing it.. Well until now i'm still not sure what's the real prob is.. If it is GC, it never happened during gaming.. A little confuse here.. As far as i concerned, one of the blackouts occured when i put the epu 6 engine to auto n it stated that it was on max saving mode so it makes me thing that the software didn't catch up wit the running prog so it crashed.. Too weird coz at that time i was just surfing the internet..

Anyway is it that easy to replace to a new one just like netraid mentioned? Like that, i also want to change la considering latest batch 18th Sept onwards is better.. Is there any procedures to change it..

Any suggestion on how to check mine ok or not? Any idea to stress it to the max lol? Just tell me what software to use n how to use it..

Gah, had black screen in COD4 just now ._. and some artifacts appearing a bit later on.

Juz wondering, which casing you're using now? Because artifact might caused by overheating.

do 4850 custom PCB or GS version come with PSU socket to 6-pin convertor ? i thinking to get one but my ayam brand PSU dont have the 6-pin connector, anyway it state as 600W but dont know true power how much ....

Oh ya,the furmark stability test,i put 8X MSAA..After 5 mins..nothing happend..is this means the card is ok?

CM690. 12cm blowing the GC at the side panel. Temp was about max 55C according to Riva Tuner when I was playing the game.


Err, should be. Mine crashes very fast (some black screen on and off and then crash ). especially when the fan is at 55% lol. It'll take just minutes. My friend manage to get his to run at 30minutes. Don't know why he ran it that long lol, maybe he forgot to turn it off.

guys..if possible can state the casing used and psu used? maybe making Database for it

yesterday i update .Net Framework 2.0 security from windows it self. Then i try to run Furmark Stability test with 8MXAA. Just for 10sec. , black screen turn up and PC hang. Luckily i solved that problem ( reinstall the .Net Framework 2.0).

Here is the video i captured with hand-phone. The Furmark Test was run for 2000sec ( 33mins 20secs ).

@stef41, i think it should b the same batch..u could ask ur distributor for ur graphic card (gainward) over at France.If not mistaken, gainward actually told netraid bout SOME unstable chips so if not mistaken not all r affected..@jiraiya, wat os r u using? can tell us the specs of ur pc?

Wah! Never expected you to appear in this thread. Which .NET did you use? 2.0 or 2.0 SP1? Maybe I should try...

as for the black screen defect

is it sometime the ATI graphic driver will restart and said the driver stop responding? than the screen gone black for 1-2 sec?

just need to make sure my card is facing the black screen or not.

Yes, for my case sometimes it will mention. Most of the time just go black and screen coming back or worse is crash.
