Haha, using the same model as mine? It only sings when i run the artifact scan on atitools doesn't sings when i play COD4 at max setting

o_O...mine does not have those singing sounds..maybe it's male

Mine sings whenever the FPS goes very high, as in 500 and above or something.. when your atitools, the fps is 1k+ isn't it? if you listen properly.. the pitch follow the fps lol.


Male more macho ma... dead silent.. mine aiyo... noisy... But can be fixed with vsync though.

Sorry for the late reply. Well, I've tried removing 1 of the ramstick, didn't work. I've also reformatted to Win Vista Ultimate 32, didn't work either. My head feels really heavy now

Bro NetRaid, about the artifacts thingie, I can see some but it comes and goes very fast. Whenever it crashes, the screen would go black and then would display some artifacts, but this whole process would take about 1-2 secs. The game would then continue, but after a little while, it would black out again and show artifacts again. Sometimes the pc would hang or give me bsod. Right now, I've only tested Cabal, no other games yet cause I need to go out in a while. Will continue again with some other games when I get back, but I have a feeling that the result would be the same. Btw, I'm using ori version of windows.

Really hope that this issue could be resolved fast and thanks to everyone that helped with suggestions. Any other ideas to try is greatly appreciated

Hey i saw the Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic Dual edition cooler same as Gainward 4870 GS.

In Win Vista Ultimate 64, yes, it happens in every game. I've just reformatted to 32bit, but currently I've only tested with one game(Cabal), will try with other games when i get back home later. Goin out for a while after this. About trying in friend's pc, I'll see if i can borrow a pc from my friend and see how it goes.

yes...u can try to take out your GC and then try to fix to other PC....(may be your friends PC).!!!

I am facing the exact problem as yours. Black screen, blue screen, artifacts, crash... Tired of install and uninstall, reboot and reboot. I havent try reformat yet, but it seems that reformat does not help in your case, so I think I'll skip it. Now I decided to take the card go RMA... Dissapointed and heart broken...

i think palit and gainward is from the same company.

I think both of them came from the same place... just different badging only.

But how's palit price?
