QUOTE(8tvt @ Oct 23 2008, 01:57 PM) but some testing like my setup, only drain power around 350W onload, still pure safe.. if i am not wrong the gc is taking power from +12V Rail...so power consumption should be based on +12V Rail only

QUOTE(lotiman2003 @ Oct 23 2008, 02:38 PM) Serigala: Your Odin 550w peak output can go until how much? still dunno on that 1..but it supply 492w on 12v rails(4 channel..18A on each channel)..and also have circuit protection..which is good for me that run water cooling.. still remember when i installed my gpu block..quite a lot of liquid managed to get inside my psu..and my psu suddenly dead..take it out..dry it with hair dryer..and the psu is up running fine again^_^ This post has been edited by serigala: Oct 23 2008, 02:59 PM

Yes the Graphic Card is draw from the +12v rail power and don't be forget the hard disk, floppy disk and fans and all is draw for the +12v rail as well. And what interesting is the Pentium 4 and above processor also is draw from this +12v rail also, so it show how important is this baby will affect our whole rig. Ya practically the 450watt is enough for the 4850 or 4850GS by depend what component in the rig, and i know there is a lot proven statistic and result on that. But is it those result is temporarily using or for benchmark testing only, how bout if running at 24/7? I doubt we lack of this result and somemore jimmy_none bro is operating his rig at 24/7 same as i did, so if really something happen in PSU then there will very dangerous.

If not mistaken someone in this club using his GC for Folding 24/7 with small PSU without problem.

Oh, glad to heard tat but anyway is it he using the PSU to operate the GC only or operate the whole system? And how many components it have in the rig, as long as which PSU he is using? Just for my curios and knowledge gain.

QUOTE(XiuKeong @ Oct 23 2008, 03:01 PM) The 4830 the design abit ..... Well, that's coz u haven't seen the Gainward one yet... Taking votes now (for those considering Gainward 4830): you guys want a cheap version or a GS version. Can only choose one! Remember, this vote will count as total feedbacks to Gainward. For 4830 GS, need to wait at least a month (end Nov), but I can tell you it will be a blast with cool temp. Our Gainward 4850 GS is still King of the Hill for best price/performance, here and in many countries. Thanks a lot guys! As for Far Cry 2, remember we will be offering discounts vouchers for all Gainward users club members soon: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/783556/+220

I not sure who the one that said he using it for folding but I think I read it from this thread. If not, then it must be from ATI 4000 series thread. Maybe you can read back the previous posts for confirmation.
