Best is cut. File, useless.... they do not like it when we use a file on their nails. If use those nail trimmers for wheels, can lah, but it takes some time to use. Some people say it doesn't work and they have resorted to cutting the nails weekly.

Red spots is normal, it is just irritation and your skin reacting to wounds.

If he eat just the yolk, best is just give twice a week. He needs to eat the egg white. Nevermind lah, Slurp got egg and chicken, he will get good stuff.

I think Ecah is warming up to Elly. If no crabbing, just chasing around then it is ok. Maybe Ecah wants to groom Elly. Another week and I think you can put Ecah and Elly together.

Yes, you can give. Crabbing is when they are scared and unsure, so they make the sound to show their emotion. Normal with joeys that see something new for the 1st time.

Go to those fruit stalls, buy those RM1 cut fruits. Each day you buy 2 packets of different fruits. Then it is not a waste loh. I used to do that when I only had 2 gliders, now with 9, I buy the whole fruit at supermarkets and wetmarkets.

When you get to know your gliders, you can tell them apart. Today Muchan was with me at Fluff, I could differentiate 4 of my gliders together. She also pening coz dunno which is which. I have 9 and I can differentiate each one.

You can get those boxed fruit juice drinks that has no added sugar or preservatives. Apple juice is good, cranberry juice is good to cleanse their body, mango juice is a very lovely treat, especially those 100% mango puree.

A tip. Say if you saw your glider pee or poo and it hisses, it means it has problems peeing or has constipation. A teaspoon of apple juice helps. It can be freshly squeezed apple juice.

If a glider is dehydrated or has diarrhea, you can give it Gatorade to drink or 100+ with the gas shaken out. I prefer Gatorade coz it has no CO2 in it while 100+ has CO2.

Any grapes may cause a problem to gliders.... we are just being cautious. Research shows that we should avoid grapes, soy, beans and tofu for gliders. Some breeders or people may say can take, they have been feeding for years but then small damage can be done in their bodies without us knowing it. Not everyone takes their animals for an autopsy after their death so there is little research and studies on this thing.

Seeds of course would cause a problem, like cherry stones, peach stones, apple seeds.... but apparently the fruit could be a problem too.

LOL, most insects have good nutrients for gliders. Overseas, people feed their gliders silkworms, feeder roaches, crickets, some even feed maggots.... LOL... but don't be a smart person go longkang catch cockroach or rubbish dump find maggots. The ones I mentioned are farmed feeders.

Gliders are omnivorous. They would eat eggs, baby birds and insects in the wild when they crave protein. I guess even lizards.

The 1st Official Sugar Glider at FLUFF Pet Store. It is gonna be a very fun event. We got food, lucky draw and some little games for you and your pets. Those without gliders can join the fun, come babysit other people's gliders if they let you.

RULES:

All glider owners should bring their own bonding pouch to keep your gliders in safely when it needs a rest.
All glider owners should bring a packet of tissue to standby. Wipe up your glider's pee and poo.
No one should bring sick gliders or joeys.

Today I saw PLC at sunway selling lots of treats for small animals.... Kaytee has yogurt drops. Cheap, 1 pack RM13.... but then it has ethoxyquin, a harmful preservative. Then got some weird brands with veggie balls.... and dunno what drops. I still trust Marukan.... even though RM20 plus for 1 pack.

It's a preservative used in alot of pet food. It's also a pesticide. Can you imagine a glider eat pesticide?

Kaytee is a brand. Marukan is a brand.... you know the dried fruit treats Pet Shack sells? The one in cubes? That is marukan brand. Good stuff.

But he don't look 3 months. To me like 8 weeks only. Some people just never know the age, simply say to make people buy. This happens with some petshops.

Cannot substitute insects. If you scared of insects, then shouldn't get glider in the 1st place loh.

Bread is a nono....

Go to petshop to feed mealworms is the worst thing to do. Why? Coz the petshops only feed them with oats and cucumber, some only give bread and some never feed at all. Not all petshops gutload the mealworms properly. Crickets from petshops are worst coz they can be contaminated with the food they eat. So that is why must gutload mealworms and crickets if possible, 24 hours before feeding to any animal.

Cannot geli worm lah. You have to feed mealworms or crickets. It is like making a dog eat only rice and no meat for it. We cannot deprive them of their natural needs.

Our local trees, majority are toxic to gliders. So the best are hibiscus trees and Guava trees. Even in Singapore, parrot keepers give guava trees coz they know other trees are toxic for parrots.

Rambutan trees, mango trees, ciku trees.... only fruits are safe, the tree is not.

Yups. Yang lain got toxic sap and bark. It's very hard to find a reference on which tree is safe, especially trees we have here. Another tree that can be used is Willow tree....

Yes, you can put food in it but make sure you take it out at the end of the day. Later got rotting fruit inside.

Best not to feed bananas. It's high in sugar and also high in phosphorus. Stick with recommended fruits like papaya, guava, mango, custard apple.... well, take the 1st page as reference.

What flavour wor?

Yes, got eucalyptus. I know 3 areas with these trees.... one is near bandar kinrara(if I get it right, need Eka to confirm it), another is puchong, outside one building but very young trees, another is at a place where people like to fly kites.... I forgot what park it is called. BIG trees by the roadside, a few were recently chopped down.

Well, it will be wet coz sugar cane the fibers cannot eat, so they just take the juice. Watermelon is loaded with water than fiber, so it would make the poop very soft. Feed a high fiber food like apple.

Those are like the best.

The link for iguanas, the list of food, can be followed. Reptiles also cannot take food high in phosphorus, same like gliders. Both animals need high calcium foods.

For example

Papaya 100 grams Raw 24cal 5phos = ratio is 4.8:1

This shows that the ratio of calcium in the fruit is more than the recommended 2:1 ratio. The 2 is calcium, the 1 is phosphorus.

Banana 100 grams Raw 6cal 20phos = ratio is 0.3:1

Banana has a ratio of 0.3 calcium to 1 phosphorus.... very bad ratio as the calcium is below the 2:1 recommended ratio.

Why susah? LOL, just get mealworms in a container, and give some veggie. Let it eat in 24 hours, then later feed to glider loh.
