Glider proof means no holes to escape about, no exposed electrical outlet, safe from aerosol and pesticide.... erm.... make sure no chemicals are exposed and also no glass... later glider go and push everything off the table hahaah.

Air cond and ceiling fan. Since they jump and but really upwards to a ceiling fan, so it has so far been safe for me lah.

Dust memang got.... so must clean weekly loh..... I lazy so I clean once a month

Sometimes these days people keep pets without passion. I have seen some just to keep for status, maybe look cool to their friends.... or just for collection. Some for money.... the world has many type of different pet people.

Get the thick PVC mesh. Gliders don't chew like hamsters.

I also have PVC coated... but the coated is a very thin, not baked coated like those overseas.... more like wrapped around only. It will rust, which was a waste of my money LOL.

Get your DIY cage advice from Coldfusionpower@cfp. He is like the best handyman I have seen LOL.... DIY so many things.

Plus minus... that's about the price. I would say it is not expensive coz firstly, gliders only give birth 2 to 3 times a year, each time 1 or 2 joeys..... then they got a lifespan of 10 years.... the upkeep is cheaper than keeping a dog.

I'm really sorry for the sad news. It was a tragic thing.

When we haven't painted the room, it was really like a toilet.... LOL.... like those public toilet size but with the PVC mesh, waterproof painted walls, ropes and toys, big hammock and pouches, it has become a very fun place for gliders.

Wah.... sure ah plastic chains? LOL.... Actually, we will be putting Eucalyptus branches soon.

It is of normal size. Joeys always have it small but when adults, it looks like a cherry popping out.

Well, gliders are animals that can adapt easily to environment changes if we train them when they are joeys. When we hang them in pouches around our necks, they get to hear our voices, our heartbeat, our smell, our movement.... all that is comforting for a glider. It would make them get used to situations and soon they would learn to sleep soundly in the loudest situations. I brought my gliders to cinema and mini concerts before, they just slept in their pouches, never move much.

Put lotsa tissue in the bonding pouch coz tissue can absorb pee. Gliders normally pee and poo while awake, so if your glider is asleep, then no worries but once you feel the pouch is moving coz your glider woke up, quickly let your glider out of the pouch and let it pee and poo outside.

They pee and poo often. I got 1 that free ranges.... there is no way to control the pee and poo, only way is to clean up my room daily lah. I block all the hard to reach places like under my bed with boxes. My glider normally just roams about, never goes under the bed unless she wants to hide from me. Her favourite peeing spots are on my tables and cupboards.

Hissing.... soft soft hissing rite? Nah, it is not dust... she is just calling out only. Joeys normally make it when hungry or wants attention.

Hiss while pooing.... means constipation loh. Feed some papaya and apple juice.

Pee alot means take alot of water. That's ok. As long she doesn't hiss while peeing is fine.

Eating alot, which I would say is a good sign. Some joeys won't eat much. Some would starve than to eat if they were separated too early from their parents. Try giving her different types of fruits ok? Are you using any glider supplement?

If she is eating, roaming about normally, then it is nothing. Sometimes they just wanna do something else. Gliders are not like hamsters, they would only run when they feel like it. Hamsters are like addicted to wheels.

Yah, papaya and kurma is ok. Best is the fresh kurma.... dried ones a bit high in sugar.

You feeding GliderSLURP or Nezu's smoothie? SLURP can be fed once or twice a day.... as long you feed 1 tablespoon a day lah.

Young animals have a higher metabolism, meaning they process food faster since their body is growing and is more active. They need food that is high in carbohydrates to help the body function properly. If human stop eating, we also become weak. For babies, if no food or water, can dehydrate. For animals that are sick, dehydrated or lack of appetite, glucose water is given to help sustain the body....

For joeys, we need to feed twice to 3 times a day. Generally if we feed a supplement food with fruits and insects, it is good enough. It is not a case of giving sweet fruits or sugar, just give a carbohydrate to bring the body's sugar level up so it can stay active and the body functions properly. Adult gliders can survive with 1 feeding a day.... but joeys need at least 2 feedings.

Sudden death in joeys that are 8 weeks OOP is very rare. I have seen it with joeys that have been separated from their mothers too early, resulting in starvation.

Yah, a pity coz it's good for them. Even Pet Safari stopped bringing Quicko glider food coz it has pork as well. But then Quicko glider food taste worst than Insectivore diet.

Yes, you can feed chicken meat. No problem. Even eggs. My gliders like to eat egg yolk more than egg white when I feed hardboiled eggs. You can give a bit of yogurt, and try feeding some mealworms.
