QUOTE(hihihehe @ Sep 12 2008, 04:24 PM) should i apply for uni now or wait for next month exhibition?if apply now need to pay application fees but at exhibition then no need.. if i apply at exhibition then the application progress will take so long coz many ppl also will apply at tht time?? well think of it this way, since you're gonna pay more than AUSD 10k per semester anyway, what's AUSD 50 (that's what i paid for the application fees, not sure if they've raised it) to you? that's my take on that

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Sep 13 2008, 02:08 AM) but the prob is not i pay then they will accept me n 1 application cost AUSD70 means around rm200 here if thr got guarantee then i sure will pay well think of it as an investment, sometimes it comes good sometimes it doesn't. i too thought of it that way back when i was considering sending in the applications then until it dawned upon me that AUSD 50 wasn't a big deal since i'm gonna end up paying 10k per semester in any uni i go to QUOTE(darlingbee @ Sep 13 2008, 02:12 AM) IELTS. is it a must to take the test before flying to aus. can i take the exam there? depends on the uni if you were required to take the test. in my case they required it when i sent in my application from M'sia. besides, since you're already in M'sia why not take the test there and then? IF you were to do the conversion you'd find out that it's actually cheaper taking it in M'sia. RM 530 vs AUD 258. you do the math

Usually they will send u an offer, either conditional or unconditional, within 2 weeks' time. If u do not receive within 2 weeks, i think it's not the fault of the uni, mayb is the problem of the agent, like IDP. IDP will be pretty busy in December when the SAM results are out and everyone rushes there to apply/ accept offer.

U.Sydney or RMIT Added on September 13, 2008, 11:15 ammechanical engine Added on September 13, 2008, 11:23 ammechanical engine dude.. To be honest, Usyd and RMIT are very different in many aspects: tuition fees, entry requirement, reputation, location etc, hence I don't think there is any difficulty in making a decision between those two. No offense here, but in my opinion, if you are able to meet the requirement for Usyd, you should also be considering on Unis such as UNSW, UMelb, Monash etc. @hihihehe: It's definitely not late to submit your application in October as bulk of the applicants will only submit theirs after Christmas when the results for SAM, Ausmat are out. QUOTE(bzayie @ Sep 13 2008, 11:13 AM) somebody help me, which u better for mechanical engine? U.Sydney or RMIT USyd's Engineering programs aren't that good. If you're going to Sydney, UNSW is far better in Engineering. USyd's Engineering programs are nowhere near the size, reputation and demand of UNSW's programs (this is not a biased view, they are supported by industry surveys). If you're going to Melbourne, you'd probably want to consider Melbourne Uni (but it's 5 years Postgrad). RMIT is pretty good and I'd say it's better than USyd for Engineering.
