should i apply for uni now or wait for next month exhibition?if apply now need to pay application fees but at exhibition then no need..
if i apply at exhibition then the application progress will take so long coz many ppl also will apply at tht time??
*
Just wait for the exhibition. It's application fees is waived.

It doesnt matter if you have to wait longer,as long as they reply you before the sem starts.

Besides, they will probably reply you immediately because they want you to be in their uni.

To be honest, Usyd and RMIT are very different in many aspects: tuition fees, entry requirement, reputation, location etc, hence I don't think there is any difficulty in making a decision between those two. No offense here, but in my opinion, if you are able to meet the requirement for Usyd, you should also be considering on Unis such as UNSW, UMelb, Monash etc.
*
Same,i was wondering why hihihehe didnt consider UNSW.

UNSW has the best engineering schools in Sydney.

n im not taking any engineering course..just IT course

Even if it's IT,UNSW have a reputable Computer Science and Engineering school.

As far as i know,UNSW is good in engineering, computing and commerce.

Among the best engineering faculty in the world, i think i saw the faculty ranking was top 20 in the world. And your faculty definitely have the most engineering students and program also in australia.
*
Yeah,UNSW has the biggest engineering faculty in Australia and offers the widest range of engineering.

In terms of facilities and teaching,im satisfied with it.

Drive.com.au is another website you should have a look at.

@powercolor:
Skype is another good alternative. Calls to Malaysian landlines only cost about $0.03/minute, while mobile cost $0.09/minute. Calling from your mobile is not really feasible unless you have a huge credit limit or it's an emergency.
Check HERE for more information.

How do i get the credit for Skype to call back to Malaysia?

do i still need to apply to of the preferred uni? like, must i apply for Melb. U, Monash, UNSW, and RMIT?

EDIT: I just applied for Melb. U and Monash. And I'm afraid that some complications would arrise  rclxub.gif
plus, it says thati  have to pay for the application, but the fee is waived but i dont have any verification code or anything ~~ so confusing ahh rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
If the application fee is waived, why not?

I applied for all Go8 unis and a few ATN unis last year.

If not, just apply the uni that you want to go the most.

I got several questions about studying in Australia.
Personal Info:
Currently studying Form 6. Stpm 2008(this year).
Taking 4 subjects. Physics,Chemistry,Maths,General Studies.
Ambition: Engineer
SPM Results: Bm A1 Eng A1 Physics A1 Chem A1 Bio A2 Maths A1 Add.maths A1 Moral B3 EST B3 History C5
1119:A2

Questions:
1)What are the requirements to apply for Bachelor of Engineering? Like how good should my STPM results be? Forecast results(needed?)?  Or do I need to sit any additional exams?
2)Bachelor of Engineering does it mean Mechanical? Electrical? Mechatronics? Or neither?
3)Currently interested in ANU , University of Melbourne , University of Sydney , University of Queensland(The universities that could get JPA scholarships). Where and how do I apply?
4)Do I need to contact/hire a 3rd party to apply?
5)When is the application deadline?
6)When is their intake?
7)Do I need to prepare a personal statement and a recommendation letter from my teacher?

8)Out of topic. If I were to get a place in one of the university. How good/bad or my chances of getting the JPA PSD scholarship?
*
I would say consider University of New South Wales,if you are going to Sydney. They are better in engineering than U Syd and they offer wider options for engineering courses.

Although STPM is way harder than A-level, the entry requirements for engineering using STPM will be higher than A-level.
For higher ranked uni in Aus, an aggregate point of 3.33 or around B+B+B+ should be sufficient to enter.
Actually you will find out that first year maths in engineering course will be pretty easy as you learnt most of them in STPM. Year 12 in Australia only cover basic stuff.
*
Yeah, even with my failing A-levels Further Maths, the maths they teach now is still A-levels material.

Oh I wasn't waiting to be spoonfed. I googled about it already. Just that, just now I was replying while I was still searching halfway.
Some of my college friends say MUET is accepted. Some say cant.....will call to inquire more tmr.
Anyways one question.
I would be taking the:
Listening
Academic Reading
Academic Writing
Speaking
Right?
And my minimum score would be?
I google. Open lots of tabs. Reply while waiting for the pages to load. Then only view the pages. Sorry if I offended you by posting before googling.
But the JPA list of accepted universities in australia for scholarship my friend sms-ed me was:
ANU
Uni Of Melbourne
Uni Of Sydney
Uni Of Queensland
Hmmm.....must call jpa to inquire also....
What? STPM needs higher requirements......why........
*
I know some Malaysian who are under JPA scholarship are currently studying in UNSW.UNSW should be in JPA's list. It's also a Go8 uni.

UNSW is often overlook by Malaysian when they are considering to study in Aus.All just go Melbourne U to pay more. doh.gif

If I were JPA, I wouldn't give out post-STPM scholarships to Aust unis.. Well not unless the student applying for it is really excellent.
Getting into Aust unis, even the Go8 ones is so easy.
*
It's easy to get in but coming out is not easy.I have been studying for just one semester.I have seen a lot of people dropping out of uni, even after first few weeks. The class size just keep on shrinking.

Low requirement doesnt mean that a uni is mediocre,IMO.Thats a usual perception of Ivy League or Oxbridge graduates towards Go8 university. In the end,it still depends on yourself. The university is just a stepping stone to your career.

They let you go in easily because they want your money.

It's just my 2 cents.

Onyx_black,why didnt you consider to do engineering in UNSW?

Engineering is one of the UNSW's strength and they offer more than 20 kinds of engineering here.

It's cheaper than Melbourne while there is still places to hang out.

guys i want your help

i received conditional offer from uni melbourne and UNSW
i want to apply for both for accomodation

i want some suggestion for which  college i should apply

i would like a shared room

and which is better catered or non catered
*
For UNSW,i find that on campus accommodation is quite hard to get.I applied for a few last time and i was rejected.

Still,if you want to try,you can try New College. If im not wrong,i think that one is easier to get but it cost $350 to stay there per week.

I think it would be better to find accommodation around the uni when you are there.

This is my 2 cents.

What is the difference between conditonal and unconditional offer?
*
A conditional offer means that you still have condition(s) to be fulfill like the uni need your final exam or your IELTS results. You just have to send them the information they need. Then, they will send you an unconditional offer that means you have been accepted into a uni.The uni probably just waiting fo you to pay the fees.

Do correct me if im wrong.

Hi guys.. anybody from UNSW ?

I visited UNSW last week and the buildings and study environment over there is so great and good..
i wanan ask about accommodation in UNSW ?
Which on campus accommodation is fun ? as in study hard and party hard.. is international house fun ?
*
Im studying in UNSW now.

I dont think anyone stays in UNSW's on campus accommodations.Frankly saying,it's very hard to secure a place in one of those places.

Im currently staying somewhere near UNSW.15-20 minutes walk to uni.

Adding on top of what Cheesenium and Chris have mentioned, IH only accepts 2nd year students and above, which means you can't apply for it for your first year study here.
*
They also accept first year students but it's much harder for a first year to get a place there than a 2nd year and above.

It's really hard to get a place in those places because there are a lot of people who wants a place there.I think there are one or 2 colleges that demands you to get at least one Distinction per semester.

Basically,it's harder to get accepted in those colleges than the uni.

I think none of us are staying in any UNSW on campus accommodation.
