Just got from Bandung, Did not do anything except shop! smile.gif
Weather is great, cool and comfortable. Almost like an air con room.
Rained lightly but quick durations.
Most shops sell fakes but you do get really really nice stuff in between. I do believe they're genuine. So ie.. Search and you'll fnd discounted original clothes.
Rumah mode and riau and one at merdeka were good. Some malls have good sales too.

Food is cheap comparatively..

Getting around is easy on an angkut, only 2000rp. Sometimes they ask for 3000rp. Just ask them before getting in to confirm your destination. Can get in and out at ANY place, so that's convenient.

Taxi is expensive because they have a minimum fee of 25000rp.

Airport is really small so best to "rush" to immigration once you arrive. Only 3 counters available!

Another nice thing is there's basically no language barrier.

dago pakar is a forest. located in north dago. to go there, you can walk from maribaya area (on the way return from tangkuban perahu). inside you can see holland / japan cave from world war ii era.

The best way you first go to dago pakar, after that you go to the floating market for lunch via second road (punclut) Your driver should know, and then you go to Tangkuban perahu

Just came back from from a 6D5N Jakarta/bandung trip.

We flew in to Jakarta via KLM 16:20pm flight. It's a 2-hour flight so it's already dark when we arrived in Jakarta.

The next day we took Argo Parahyangan train to Bandung from Gambir station. You can buy the tickets via tiket.com as the official kereta-api.co.id does not accept non-Indonesian credit cards.

The journey took around ~3 hours & there will be cabin crew selling you food & drinks on board. Once arrived at the Bandung station, you'll be approached by some taxi guys, somewhat similar to Langkawi or Pangkor tongue.gif. Bluebird taxis are quite limited here unlike Jakarta.

Among the place visited:

- Tangkuban Perahu, an obligatory for the first-time visitor to Bandung. On the way down, visited Floating Market in Lembang where you can try Bandung's unique cuisine.

- Kawah Putih. A 2-hour journey from Bandung city. Along the road you can see strawberry orchards & small paddy fields. Compared to Tangkuban Perahu, there's no touts selling you overpriced souvenirs here. On the way back, we had lunch at a nice restaurant called Saung Gawir.

- Factory outlets. I think you need more than one day to cover all of them.

Thanks to @gins1983 for being such a nice host! I'd join fellow forumers here to recommend him.
