case fans...see what you want lo....LED etc etc....like for me..i like to sleep in a dark room..so i just use all cap-ayam-itik RM18 for each 12cm fans

almost all 12 CM fans spins at a lower speed as compared to 8cm fans...so naturally it will be more silent....branded ones maybe will perform much better..but to me..its all almost the same when it comes to making sure of the airflow in my casing

thats why..if i want lights....i will go for CCFL....and if you still want glowing fans..why not just get UV reactive fans and a UV CCFL...should last longer than LED

the ABCD thingy is the MCH latch where you set to be (on top of the multipliers)...im not sure how it calculates...but the ammount of mhz of your ram will be stated when you change it...so...just try them out XD

btw...i think alot of setting are required for the dominator to run optimized...like mine...when out of the box..the timings and speed are all off...even the voltage is not set to what its supposed to be

yea thats true...well...its a try and error process...took me quite a while to make my system orthos stable...regarding your dominators im not really sure of its capabilities...as for me...i hand picked those old stocks with microns...so i dare take that risk

looking at the current OC capabilities of processors...im feeling kinda left out with my e4300 1.8 already sobs cry.gif i would be delighted to let it go at RM180 brows.gif

XMP whats that?....extreme memory profile?...if its that..i didnt use it coz i set everything manually in the bios....i presume it should be better than the auto ones....coz i dont want it to be too slow or too fast...1085mhz with 5-5-5-15 is just nice for me

i dont wanna exceed 2.1v as it would void the warranty (according to corsair site) thats why...and also..mine was put as standard

well it did stated in the bios (if im not mistaken) that its recommended to set to standard with overclocked settings....so perhaps that would be the best for it.....anyways..i couldnt explore much with this proc anymore as its reached it limit (below 60C) at 3.25 ....so this is as far as i know within the FSB ranges ...not sure much beyond that...

do you increase the NB voltage to do 500FSB?

Added on February 14, 2009, 2:20 am2.00D means its using the 400mhz latch on the MCH with 1:1 ratio

o.O....can short circuit??? i remove my plastic as well tho....but i still had some remains from my double sided tapes(i removed them by force from my old mobo)...so far its running fine for almost half a year..i think i'll just leave it as it is...(didnt know that the plastic had a purpose) coz to me....plastic + heat = bad

QUOTE(arct @ Feb 14 2009, 02:34 AM)
so my question is, should i change my ratio to 5:6 so that my ram would be oced to 960mhz? cuz from everest memory benchmark it indeeds shows improvements in bandwidth and latency. but its running in 5:6 ratio.

my specs are as shown in my sig, and i am expecting my gtx285 soon, and i guess my cpu and rams would be the bottleneck factor for it, so i would just like to squeeze alittle bit more out from my rams. so would changing to 5:6 ratio thus making my rams to run at 960mhz(or more) would increase my pc performance?

or should i stick back with my current 1:1 ratio?

thanks!
*
you use 1:1 to get the best of the FSB coz its the most stable method to ensure you PC can post when the FSB is increased

you can go to 5:6 ratio if you want or even 2:3 if your sticks can tahan...when your 1:1 config is good

thats what most ppl do anyways...CPU OC = OK stable, ......then its time to OC the RAM

and yea...obviously you'll see increase in performance

cooling = OC ma...if you dont OC why do you even bother about cooling XD....use stock enough already whistling.gif

well....post some results lo...so TS can update the database brows.gif mine is up there already

updated for u bonchi

but i noticed ur tjmax for ur previous result is not the same lol
*
thks TS...well..after researching ...ive found the true TJmax for this proc..which is 85C....used the wire thing where you put under the HSF to test the temp also..ive also set my mobo to make irritating beeping sounds when its 60C and above

so actually my previous post...its over 60C but no beeping sound..so i think the TJmax was wrong at that time..
*so i think ive answered the question for the TJmax of e4300....(as if there's still people using them doh.gif )

Not really leh sweat.gif

Now I'm using Pentium D and the stock fan so noisy I need to change a new wan, but I never OC before.

So, is it OK if I change to Cooler Master HyperTX2? After change edi got room for a little but of OC?  brows.gif
*
stock fan is indeed noisy...but temperature wise you dont really need such a good one at stock (though its advisable as cooler temps will ensure longer processor life-span)

if you change the HSF...it is true that there will be headroom for OC..however..you can still OC with the stock..but of course with that temperature rise, your proc is at risk as it is closer to the TJmax

thats the main purpose of the HSFs...like mine..if compared to stock..its still running at the same temps though with an 80% increase in clock speed..therefore..the lifespan is not effected..so to say..it is safe to run 24/7

hmm 456 FSB..thats quite high..well it seems you have to increase the NB volatage as well...if not mistaken in LYN..there is a thread discussing about your MOBO series ...try searchin 2OZ copper or something like that....there's a rough guide on how to reach 500mhz FSB with the mobo youre using...good luck and all the best in your OC journey smile.gif

if the fan in the v8 those conventional 12cm ones..i think it is able to be replaced...and the controller....its a pci slot for easy excess...you can put it anywhere else (leave it hanging even drilling a hole on your casing for the knob) biggrin.gif

arctic cooling freezer 7 pro is one..
or xigmatek S1283?(it uses the push pins at stock...but still highly recommended to use the bracket mount)

they're both about RM140 tho

sd963/964 is 110-130 i think...but its best to go for better ones...coz all you need is another 20-30 ringgit more like the sunbeam CCF
or the S1283 these..you can use the bling fans...or go for red scorpion and achiellies s1284 which also comes with bling fans

i see the sd963/964 seems good for me..haha..the weight also kinda meets my requirements, looking for one about 500g or less, don't want to heavy coz i'll be carrying my pc around sometimes laugh.gif
those coolers that you guys recommended are able to fit inside a coolermaster elite casing rite?
*
shouldnt be a problem fitting....ive seen a sunbeam CCF fitted in it as well...tho honestly the tip of the heatpipes are almost touching the side panel

which part of the fan is greasy? coz almost any fan out there..the centre piece where the sticker is...is always greasy...that is suppose to lubricate the motor

CCF pushpins are a little different...i dont think that its that bad...since so many in this thread uses them
besides CFF you can use S1283 with SS kit.....i wont recon the archilies..coz that in the other hand might not fit in your CM elite(you have to leave your side cover open)
red scorpion is basically S1283...but will cost more with the LED fans...so i'd recon if your budget is tight..better go for S1283 with SS kit thumbup.gif

btw..if you want something cleaner...why not go liquid? im going to change mine to liquid soon already (prolly today itself coz the kit arrive dy) sweat.gif.....(does this mean that im barred from this thread sad.gif )

true..and a little more maintainence are required as compared to heatsink fan....i went ahead for the thermaltake bigwater...but got heartbroken when i read the reviews after purchasing XD....im doing the leak test now..hopefully it will work as good as my arctic freezer 7 pro or better....gonna do some lapping later...

anyways..if you want hassle free...air-cooling is still the best cooling solution for budget and performance

use it!! lol....if you can find some long screws and bolts from hardware shops....for your HSF

ss kit are usually RM40...with that it will cost you RM 5 at most XD..

(im still on air atm...so that means im still legit in this thread rclxms.gif )hahaha
