Sorry, I'm not using MS Outlook so I'm not able to provide you input on this

Other than this, I have no conflict problem like you experienced in v9. Can still receive Email with thunderbird without any problem, P2P works like a charm as well. smile.gif

Try to look back the posts of this thread and you may find the answer.

For free one, most of the people suggest AVG.

I've tried many antivirus before.

I tested the AV on my office computer (Win2K), home PC (Win XP-dial up), client pc (Win 98), friends laptop (Win XP and Win 2003 server).

I've tried Norton AV (Version 7 and 8), Mc Afee, PcCillin Internet Security, Bitdeffender 8 Pro, eTrust, Panda Platinum, Antivir, F-Prot (DOS version), F-Secure Internet Security, Karspersky, Nod 32.

From my experience, I like Nod 32, PcCillin and eTrust.

Norton - many trojan always keep coming attack my pc. Even I delete it and always update virus pattern, the same trojan will come again and again. May be it was old version or scan engine.

Mc Afee - same as Norton. Last time I like Mcafee than NAV but at one time, the problem like Norton occurs. Last time I try, the virus pattern is so huge. not suitable for dial up user.

Pc Cillin - I like it. The problem that I have with Norton settled after I use Pc Cillin. But the update pattern is so huge. Not suitable for home PC because I use dial-up. If I'm not mistaken, the spyware is still in my PC for previous version that I try. I clean it using Ad-aware. Cannot install on Win Server. Have to use Server Version.

Bit Defender Pro - I use it with no problem. Cannot install on Win server. Have to use Server version.

Panda - make my pc slow.  I hate this av.

eTrust - I like it. I found that my computer was infected with trojan after I uninstall Bitdefender and install eTrust. So, Bitdefender didn't alert me that trojan. But I dont like eTrust during installation. The virus pattern didn't install  unless you connect your pc with internet. One of the laptop hang during installation.

Antivir - its light and free. My friend use this on his laptop. Once, his laptop infected with trojan. The trojan keep coming after deletion  or wipe. He reboot but Antivir still alert the trojan is still there just after the Windows started until his laptop hang becase so many alerts coming.
I start it in safe mod. Uninstall the AV and install Nod32. Nod32 detect the trojan but alert it as future virus.  After delete the trojan, the laptop works smoothly. Since my friends did not confident that the trojan was removed completely. He uninstall Nod32 and install Antivir back. No more trojan detected.

F-secure - my friends said it was so good. But i've problem to update may be because I tried to crack it, he..he...  One of my clique got problem with her pc. I install eTrust but the problem still occurs like there was spyware or trojan in it. I use Ad-aware to remove it and eTrust Pest Patrol. But the problem not resolved. eTrust did not detect any virus. After F-secure installed, scan and yes, no more virus but the problem solved. Dont know why the problem occurs.

Karspersky - I try it only for a short time. I think its quite slow when scanning.

F-Prot DOS - I use it with my bootable rescue CD. Its fast.

NOD32 - this is the AV that I use now. At home and Office. No problem on Win 98 with low memory. Scanning very fast. Alert me when the trojan try to attack. Update pattern is small if updated daily.  Did not slow my PC. Only one laptop with Win2003 Server was hang when try to install this. But I'm  not try to install it in safe mode yet.
Anyway I think so far this is the best AV I've tested. Yes it is not very user friendly compared to PC Cillin. But it is very good. I trust it. One more thing, no firewall with it. But it detect spyware and adware.

I'm using win xp sp2 with nod32, I suspect it imcompatible with bittornado. Last time I use nod32 then my bittornado always DL halfway then hang.
Afterthat i format and switch to kaspersky, my bittornado running fine. After a while i decided not to use kaspersky, cause it use quite some resources.
I format pc again and this time i installed nod32 again. The Bittornado problem appear again, always when it reach quite high download rate then it hang. I off window firewall but still same it hang.
I wanna off nod32 but i dunno how, if press quit at the control center, it only close the control center but nod32 is still running. I wanna check it is nod32 that cause the problem. Anyone face this problem before? nod32 + bittornado.

this is my nod32 version i guess.

you could twink kaspersky 5.x to NOT scan the start-up programs, this will shorten the start up time

Your version is quite old.. the latest version now is 2.5.25... may be u can try to upgrade n see whether your problem still there.

To disable NOD32, open all protection modules and untick the protection.
