If such a case as I am looking for a DVD upscaler, might as well get the Philips BDB3000 at RM599, all in one.

A good Pioneer DVD HDMI upscaler will cost me RM400 dee... Sony DVD HDMI upscaler will cost me RM278, but I think Sony sometimes got prob playing ahem DVD..

Not sure if you can just stick any USB WiFi dongle in. Best read the manual first

yup, thats correct!!!

wou, bro, you seems to know a lot about BD player biggrin.gif

Added on October 28, 2009, 11:01 pmlike i say, y DVD and not BD player????

if buy DVD player, how far you can go,

RM8-15 DVD or Original DVD's which is better??

Please bear in mind what you are missing, buy DVD player later want play BD need to buy again....

Do you know Uncle Ho's RM45 BD ( current rate ) is any time better that an Original DVD in terms of PQ and AQ !!!

In a couple of months..... if uncle ho's BD fall down to RM20 ???

do you still watch DVD then.... even if you do,
like i say the quality of DVD upscale playbackon BD Player is any time better than marantz/Denon DVD player costing RM700

so choose wisely.... DVD players are facing E.O.L.

Elo. Long time no come in here. He! He! e!

Well, for you guys still looking for an upscaling DVD player...

I've just got a Sony N728 model. RM299 (proly can get cheaper else where) with free HDMI cable.

Tried to plug in a portable HDD on the USB... it didn't work. Ha! Ha! Ha!

On the quality of upscaling... I have not tried with proper DVDs except with an old disc.

It is still as slow as the old N76. The remote is smaller with no eject button.

Other than that, it is nothing great la. The design is nice and slick.

Just saw the Philips DVP4320 being sold at HN Mid-Valley, for RM179 (if i remember correctly!). That's probably the cheapest i've come across for a branded DVD player with HDMI output.

Any owners of this unit here? Would like to hear your feedback / comments.
