david, if i purchase the giftcard at Giant there, then will i still need a valid US address to purchase items from US store? or just a valid US state name,city name and postcode ?

2. winpwn-2.5-BETA_2_Setup

What i did so far,
1. Installed Winpwn 2.5beta2
2. Flashing iphone using winpwn
3. restore iPhone1,1_2.0.2_5C1_Restore.ipsw using itune with win vista
4. waiting for restart
5. I saw a USB cable and a PC / Iphone in my screen
6. Msg: insert an unlocked and valid sim to activate iphone"
7.
I stuck now... i can not unlocked my phone.


What Shall i do now. ?

Additional Information : during flashing the file to my Iphone... MY iphone is on. but it is still the original Iphone Logo (apple) appear there...
I think it should be others logo that i choose during winPwn right ?


Edited : Finally i got it works

They will create a new IPSW file in my documents. that i need to flash..
just now I use the original IPSW file no wonder the logo nvr change...

You just need a valid US state name,city name and postcode. Then type in the redeem giftcard code and start buying your apps. Simple and no Credit Card needed.


Did you follow the guide provided on the first post of this thread? Use the iclarified guide and you'll be fine.

As to boot logo, you can opt not to and select no. Use the default apple logo.

Suggest that you pwn with fw 2.0.1 and not 2.0.2. read first post and you will understand why.

Did you use the guide to pwn your phone? What firmware did you use to restore? Custom or original? And what's your root partition size? Did you do a proper DFU?

After using 2.0.1, I realized that the opening apps are faster than 1.1.3. Huge improvement.

now no more screen at all... i think the boot screen corrupted..

Problem :
1. no more display
2. Restore error 1601

last night i have succesfully upgraded my FW.
But i added too many installer source.. when i go to installer. it hangs due to too many thing to upgrade.

so i decide to restore again...
at first no problem.. now getting worse. no more display.

u need to sembelih kambing 1st before pwning..its done by all pwner's u know..

One thing you have to remember each time you install new apps it will be flash into your
memory and if possible restart the phone each time u install ONE or TWO. This is to purge
the memory so there wont be any memory jammed. So do remember when u install
anything pls pls pls restart your phone.

Its something like winterboard/summerboard, why everytime u install your new theme u hv
to restart...im not sure how to explain technically but thats how you do it.

newbie question here...can i update firmware straight away from itunes after i jailbreaked my iphone 3G? and then i need to jailbreak it again?

for example, i running a jailbreak 2.0.1 software. are the jailbreak apps still function after that i update it to 2.0.2 via itunes? or i should pwn the 2.0.2 first and then using "restore" to update to make sure the apps will functioning?

I jailbreak my iPhone 1.1.3 to firmware 2.0.1 and success using pwanage tool.but im having problem to send sms to people. when i try to send a sms , it will return to home menu . i tried rebooting , but still the same...anyone can help me.....
