same goes for my Q9450, after tkh_1001 bro asked me to try pushing my Q9450 to 3.6ghz, so i thought i will give it a try.

currently doing 3.5ghz @ 1.22v happily
however if 3.6Ghz must raise all the way to 1.37v!! the temperature automatically shoot up by extra 9c overall!! 

so now i need to adjust the fsb, voltage only? how bout the memory multiplier? i remember adjusting something on my previous proc

Using Sunbeam CCF to cool my CPU currently. Been giving good temperatures so far, but I think it can go better if I can manage my CPU casing cables and airflow properly. Currently trying to lower the vCore , vNB, vTT to as low as possible while making sure to keep it stable @3.5ghz. Last night I managed to drop another 0.1vcore to it, hopefully can still be reduced.

Btw, metsatsu what is your highest clock speed for q9450 ? Is it really possible to break 4.0ghz for q9450 ?

Wonder if can get 4.0ghz IBt stable on 20runs. That would be perfect .. by the way, still trying the highest I can go right now. Heh...

vtt more than 1.4 really will kill the processor?

and what other thing/ setting  that i should change..

after im read some post here...ppl just using 1.2 or 1.3 only for Vcore..is it possible with mine?

im facing this kind of problem right now,
i've overclocked to 450fsb and adjusting everything back, but i do have the same preset for 440fsb which is stable, run prime,occt,ibt passed
and then, when i reload the 440fsb preset back, all of those program crash,failed,windows reboot, not stable at all

proc degradation?   

not very often.. but i ran 4 times before, 2 = 10 loops pased, 2 = 20 loops passed
now all gone.. T_T

degraded processor need higher vcore to run at same frequency.
cpu will degrade after a long-term of overclocking due to higher temp and higher vcore than intel stated.
if your vcore and temp doest exceed intel spec, then the degrade chances will be lower..

IBT is a real torture test,8 hours prime/OCCT is equal to 15 minutes IBT only iirc.

okie, will try to wipe off the existing thermal from both end. how do we normally clean it? just dry tissue?

i cant believe if i am using the stock hsf, it might be 60'C already?

oh.. so 71.4 is the CPU temp limit.
and Core temp is not the same with CPU temp.
both realTemp and coreTemp tools only give us the Core temperature, but not CPU temp? kinda blur  now..

can we adjust Tjmax?
in the coreTemp apps, it allow use to adjust there for what??
