QUOTE(metsatsu @ Oct 22 2008, 06:58 AM) same goes for my Q9450, after tkh_1001 bro asked me to try pushing my Q9450 to 3.6ghz, so i thought i will give it a try. hmmm.... what if u adjust ur gtl settings? currently doing 3.5ghz @ 1.22v happily however if 3.6Ghz must raise all the way to 1.37v!! QUOTE(finecut @ Oct 23 2008, 04:01 AM) so now i need to adjust the fsb, voltage only? how bout the memory multiplier? i remember adjusting something on my previous proc erm...just add vcore first... if adding vcore any higher wont give u stability then only u start adding vtt or vnb.....then adjust ur memory to run at 1:1 basically u need a try to look for stability by increasing 0.5ghz at a time (preferably)... not terus jump to 3.3ghz... this way u will know roughly how much vcore u need for every settings |

QUOTE(tgairborne @ Nov 13 2008, 09:42 AM) Using Sunbeam CCF to cool my CPU currently. Been giving good temperatures so far, but I think it can go better if I can manage my CPU casing cables and airflow properly. Currently trying to lower the vCore , vNB, vTT to as low as possible while making sure to keep it stable @3.5ghz. Last night I managed to drop another 0.1vcore to it, hopefully can still be reduced. icemocha n acecombat did it in lyn.....Btw, metsatsu what is your highest clock speed for q9450 ? Is it really possible to break 4.0ghz for q9450 ? mine ex only can manage to reach 3.84..... but only the ones that acecombat did was 1 hour occt stable... |

QUOTE(salimbest83 @ Dec 2 2008, 11:51 AM) yeah..thats what i got if leave all setting AUTO in bios.. i believe u can get lower vcore if u test it by slowly increasing ur clock to see how far it can go with lower vcore... will try to manually set it after this.. and what other thing/ setting that i should change.. after im read some post here...ppl just using 1.2 or 1.3 only for Vcore..is it possible with mine? and the temp u can use the one from coretemp as reference with tjmax set to 100c....... as u OC, if adding vcore by quite an amount already also cant seem to help stabilise the clock, u might wana adust ur vtt/vfsb and Vnb... if ur mobo have gtl... try mess around with it also... vcore on auto is kinda |

actually imho OC settings cant really be shared tho cos each chip has different potential and the hardware pairing is also kinda different....
all that can be done is just share information on how to get stability imho... the rest have to try out and experiment urself liao |

QUOTE(hengmy @ Dec 2 2008, 07:44 PM) yea, but just for references as vnb and vtt voltage will be similar i guess actually different mobo, proc chip potential and ram settings will need different Vnb and Vtt.... thx so much bro btw, do u think my psu enough juice for my rig?? with q9450 Added on December 2, 2008, 7:46 pm regarding ur psu, i think its still ok ok cukup makan ba |

QUOTE(huzai @ Dec 31 2008, 03:33 AM) im facing this kind of problem right now, might be a sign of proc degradation? i've overclocked to 450fsb and adjusting everything back, but i do have the same preset for 440fsb which is stable, run prime, occt, ibt passed and then, when i reload the 440fsb preset back, all of those program crash, failed, windows reboot, not stable at all i wonder why.. damn it man! are u using ibt very often? |

QUOTE(hengmy @ Dec 31 2008, 08:11 PM) degraded processor need higher vcore to run at same frequency. did u check ur ram? cpu will degrade after a long-term of overclocking due to higher temp and higher vcore than intel stated. if your vcore and temp doest exceed intel spec, then the degrade chances will be lower.. QUOTE(AceCombat @ Jan 1 2009, 09:14 PM) seconded.... i tried before and ibt can beat the crap out of my 5 hours OCCT... and i mean 5 loops of ibt only...This post has been edited by tkh_1001: Jan 2 2009, 01:55 AM |

QUOTE(bobtiang @ Jan 14 2009, 02:51 AM) okie, will try to wipe off the existing thermal from both end. how do we normally clean it? just dry tissue? dry tissue is ok...check ur casing ventilation too..... try to manage ur cable so the airflow is better.... i cant believe if i am using the stock hsf, it might be 60'C already? for quad core it wud be advised to have a good heatsink if u wana OC higher.... and then again, make sure ur contact for the heatsink is tight enuf.... |

QUOTE(bobtiang @ Jan 14 2009, 04:49 PM) oh.. so 71.4 is the CPU temp limit. read this link bro and Core temp is not the same with CPU temp. both realTemp and coreTemp tools only give us the Core temperature, but not CPU temp? kinda blur now.. can we adjust Tjmax? in the coreTemp apps, it allow use to adjust there for what?? http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/666785 |

QUOTE(bobtiang @ Jan 14 2009, 07:49 PM) thanks for pointing out that tkh_1001 welcome bro...u can head over to the air cooling thread 1st page if u have anything unclear about air cooling good info. gonna change the hsf direction and apply a new layer of tim. see it that helps.
