anyone know how to secure a ceiling fan? my electrician installed my fans and it seemed to wobble a fair bit. They told me is like that and cannot do anything about it. sad.gif

most of ceiling fan wobble are cause by wrong installation method. If care is not taken while installating the blade and it bent the blade even a little, the fan will woble.

How much for a ceiling fan installation labour cost?

QUOTE(myhat @ Aug 21 2008, 11:02 AM)
hi all...

hopefully we can share some information and perhaps experience of using ceiling fans here in this topic

for me, KDK is one good brand as my dad's house has been using it since 1985 and no prob at all until today...even the regulator itself...
what we do....we just regularly unscrew the blade and wash it....
so it become shiny again...
until today...
it still performing well....

now....
for my new house....
i'm hunting for good fan..
yup...
KDK is the 1st in my mind....
attracted to the Yuragi model....KY156
user posted image

but at the same time....
Panasonic also has it

user posted image

more or less...
it pretty the same...
but the price.....BOMB!

suggested by a friend to get Euro Uno....
5 years warranty for the motor.....
but it seems to shaky for me...unstable....
thin material....
looks like won't last for long term....

hopefully...
beside sharing ur experience here...
u can also give ur opinion to assist me on this....

thanks rolleyes.gif

I was quoted around RM25 for each ceiling fan installation. So I guess it should be around this range smile.gif

Yes, sometime if you switch from speed 1 to speed 2, you may hear a light "kong" sound.

Is there any ceiling fan that is smaller than 56", other than baby fan? I want to install a fan between the kitchen and dining area and want to utilise the hook which is already there.

Panasonic has a smaller 48", 3 blade ceiling fan, but no remote. Just using the old fashioned wall mounted control. F-MY129.

Anybody see any 2-in-1 fan and light, where the blade is hidden when power off? That's mean u see it as ceiling light only when power off.

Thanks. Any smaller than that? I search KDK website and 48" is their smallest too.

hi all, when u all buy the fan, did the shop help u to fill-in the warranty card? The shop i buy fan dint even take out the warranty card, so in case my new fan got problem, how does the fan manufacturer verify that the fan still under warranty?

Do i need to mail back the warranty card? that also problem because no official chop by the shop (who sell the fan).

Now that i have problem on my KDK fan (buzzing sound) and alpha fan (random bearing noise), i wonder i should contact the service center myself or contact the shop that sell me the fans....?

Mine wasn't filled in. I called for service, they asked for my purchase date so I gave them. I kept my receipt, just in case they wanted to check, but in the end they didn't. So it's just verbal verification.
