On my way Senior Member 558 posts Joined: Jan 2003	Sorry, i was not aware of and have no knowledge about the ball-joint type. But the basic is to have the fan supported from the slab or roof truss, unless your plaster ceiling is designed to withstand the fan's operating & idealing weight.

They told me is like that and cannot do anything about it. most of ceiling fan wobble are cause by wrong installation method. If care is not taken while installating the blade and it bent the blade even a little, the fan will woble.
