QUOTE(pekies @ Sep 28 2008, 01:43 PM)
sorry i dont have a full list of clubs and societies.. just head to SA building for a flea market of clubs and societies on 6~8th oct.
job scope includes writing meeting minute (usually less than a page or two), reading and and replying SA Ents official emails.. well basically monitoring the paperwork in and out of the organizing committee. But it doesnt end there.. hahha like for previous secretary, he led an organizing committee for the event Ms and Mr Nottingham, because he wants to and he is capable of.

Cool.. if that's all, I'm up for it ! XD

I'm not worried about the difficulty of tasks at hand though, what I was thinking of was actually the load of work coz I wanna take part in the committee of other societies too. As much as I would love to, I can't possibly be at 2 places at once rite? haha

Everyone is eligible to take part, but depending on availability and whether your course is offered in either campuses. Ningbo has more slots while UK is lesser, especially the business school.

Generally you need to meet a result requirement and they will filter from there. Filtering is done by the international campuses, not the local one.

Is FAM available in both campuses?

FAM is available in both campuses, but UK has seriously limited places for Business students. China has more.

Hmm, I think you can, but I'm not sure. You should go to blue building, and take lift to the highest floor. Got one office there which handles this.

lol if you can manage your time well, u shouldn't have problem with joining SA Ents + holding a committee post in some other clubs or societies. It can be done and had been done by a few SA Ents members last year.

Being part of SA Ents is an experience like no other. At the end of the academic year, we will need the organize the biggest event of the university, the Annual Dinner. With the budget of over RM200K, it will be by far the most challenging and most rewarding event you'll ever organize to date.

Are you up for the job?

Everytime I look at Ms Wendy's email about the Business students no longer being able to transfer to the UK campus from this year onwards... it makes me sad....

If you're wondering where I got the email from, I was in the 07/08 Foundation program and I saved the email just for the sake of it... rclxub.gif

Sure.. Sprucing up my CV now.. as I'm only in foundation I can't help but notice it's not solid at all.. haha. I mean as compared to a first year student's.

Added on September 29, 2008, 8:50 amHuh really arh.. No longer able to transfer?!
Yea I somehow feel sad too..........

Anyway, with an optimistic point of view, Ningbo is just as good smile.gif

If u guys wanna experience staying overseas, there's another alternative.
keep an eye for work and travel USA program.
Basically, it's a summer program where u work for 3 months and spend all ur money earned on traveling or bring it back to malaysia and get rich =P
Last summer i went to Virginia and it was one heck of an experience.

yeah about rm200k budget grand dinner attended by about 1100 students and lecturers. Jaw dropping.

About USA, i feel relatively safe walking on streets and public places. Police enforcers are always around. However some precaution still must be taken. Like you don't wanna walk alone on a quiet street of course. Convince your parents that this is a trip of a lifetime. It is worth it.

Well.. there is always hiccups for every event, especially one of such scale.. just what is the best way to solve it or minimize it.

work and travel usa is not organized by the university, but by a third party agent. More information can be obtained at www.speedwing.org

I think there will be a talk soon in month october or november when they start recruiting for summer 2009, so take note of them.

the agent fee was rm2.8k for me. And the flight ticket was rm5.1k (varies depend on your destination). And u need a few hundred dollars as initial pocket money when u first go there. So total of about rm10k or less. You can easily earn back that money, and a lot more if u work hard. For myself, my total paycheck is about 5000 dollars, after tax, before any expenditure. So if u take care of your spending, u can actually bring back some money after doing some traveling, which i did.
