Petaling Jaya Section 17, today whole morning the internet damn sucks.
Disconnected for numerous times, and even when online the speed is very terrible. Now cannot online at all.

If you are using CPE, you can log in via browser to view the CINR, etc...

I'm newbie to wimax. I want to ask something about amax wimax.

1.Does Amax offer trial for testing wimax in case that i can cancel the registration if it's not suitable?
2. I did refer the amax website, looking for coverage area. It covered Kepong, but it located at most side of area covered. I afraid that obtained low signal , unable to gain full speed for internet.( what do you guys think?)

hmmm, my AMAX down since yesterday around 7pm, the status written connected, but can't connect, MSN, facebook, google all can't get it.


Anyone else facing same problem?

Cheras area confirmed still having low bandwidth problem as of 10:30pm, 30th Oct 09. I went to test at a place near the base station, got at least 40% signal with single user dongle but the problem is still here, I got about 0.2Mbps download~

do note that this problem may take some time as Amax's management may be busy as this is the audit season for all companies~

I woke up early, supposed to meet a client but got brought forward to another date~ anyway, I went around Sri Petaling, to the edges of the coverage on ground floor and also to my own home and I can confirm that the speed is normal now~ the main systoms were low bandwidth for direct downloads, which I always use nvidia.com and also stopping of procedure when running speedtest.net~

speedtest didn't stop and the bandwidth is fine~ tested for about 20min for several locations with my lappy~ the following are the average I got out of 7 - 10 speedtests;

average 165kBps (pls refer to attachment)

I will continue to monitor this condition at my own home~ I expect Cheras to be fine soon as well~ Darren, I hope your can help us test once in a while, thank you~ I hope our Amax community can help each other~

I'm still testing this at home, great speed and promised bandwidth is back in Sri Petaling~

Speedtest result for this afternoon. But, the speed is in the fluctuated condition. It seems they are "playing" with the routing system. I'd noticed that all the links are routed to asianetcom since last night when I am back from office.

Download speed recovered at Sri Petaling ? Are you sure? See my spped test result below:


Location: Sri Petaling at 2.48pm.

I suppose to get 1.5Mbps. Not even half of it.

routing looks bad when it reaches the 7th jump onwards on average~ it is indeed fluctuating, especially to certain countries like Indonesia~ Amax may be doing tests and this may explain why there were no specific answer on the bandwidth condition in Sri Petaling and Cheras since 19th Oct~

Did a speed test just now and the result below shows that it is fluctuating. In fact I did yesterday also and the speed was always stable and good

there may have been distruption in certain areas~ the Amax website isn't updated as Amax concentrates on sales at the moment instead of maintaining the website~

technicians work on Sat & Sun though~ I'll call and ask a technician about the fluctuations~ I feel the fluctuation too, good bandwidth in the morning, lousy in the afternoon, bad at night~
