As far as i know (from the internet),
Chek Quen Do (赤拳道)is originated from Chinese Wushu "Xing Yi Quan", but has been modified so that it's more focus on self-defense technique, such as grasping techniques, how to tackle opponent with weapons etc. There are a few local schools at Klang valley offering Chek Quen Do classes. Not sure about public classes. Some people might mistaken it as Jeet Kune Do because of the pronunciation. This post has been edited by ahsham: Jun 22 2010, 12:18 AM |

no... it's not the same at all. Krav Maga is a self-defence techniques that focuses on effective defence, strikes and grapples without art-form...
Wing chun is martial art that focuses strikes on the center-line of the opponent. |

hi honda,
wing chun don't have anything that defensive or strikes? i think they have the similarity in striking with using continiusly strike on the opponent . maybe not grappling but i think wing chun fight can turn into grappling too if anything goes during fight if opponent is a grabber. karate kid in jackie chan movie did tell us about how the opponent can even be control by our action. i think wing chun is an art form like u said but it might be close enough to krav maga if situation forced the art to push its limit without boundary. |

Hi guys, i'm looking for MMA classes in Kota Damansara. I'm a total beginner but i don't really know what other alternatives i have, since i've been reading the other posts that said Pure MMA classes don't exist here in malaysia. Any suggestions on what i can take up? I tried going to CrushMMA's website but it's down.
Thanks, jun |

If I'm not mistaken, Fight Zone Malaysia might have some MMA classes. Google it.
