The one that I saw and liked was quoted a buying price of AUD99.99, equivalent of RM280.87
Seller is Hong Kong based, will ship worldwide.

Indeed Valve Buffer Amp

NO, headphone amp is not a pre-amp although SOME are. If you have two sets of RCA sockets that are marked IN and OUT chances are is a preamp too! tongue.gif
*
wow this thread is moving further beyond its objective.......

speaking about the buffer, for RM280 do you think it's a good bargain since we still haven't positively sure about the quality of it. what can we expect from this buffer by justifying from a photo and some reviews ????? hmm.gif

ekool,
-shopping list can be based on the given circuit diagram mahh.. tongue.gif
as I mentioned earlier, no board is necessary as point-to-point wiring is possible/better! But if you still want a board for it, that can be done also wink.gif

-of course as the T-Amp came completely assembled, just 'plug n play' laugh.gif
with the GC, needs some assembling work.I think since tomorrow is a public holiday, I might assembled my GC as the board 3 (actually board 4 smile.gif) is still logging the burn in hours. After a short burn in can pit the GC with the T-Amp neck to neck... hmmm sounds like a good plan!  icon_idea.gif

-more Sansui poisons.. and looks like gabanyayaya is developing some interests in it..  wink.gif
*
hey.....wait a minutes...hold your horses...!!!! I'm not saying replacing the Marantz......it serves me very well lah.....

jazzy have you ever think about the main issue regarding building the GC here???? PSU...where the heck you gonna find a cheap toroidal man....!!!! blink.gif blink.gif

okay okay, you're still smitten with your Marantz wink.gif value for money, I know! hehehe.

we'll or rather I'll build a 'low cost' version of the power supply first (using normal tranny)as I have these at hand and move on to toroidal when time and $$$ permits. bsl quoted something like RM150 which I think is reasonable considering the performance gained! also, your spare torroid is also available mah! laugh.gif
*
if RM150 is acceptable here (max. i can take hehe smile.gif )......I though the spare torroid is for the outstanding project....!!!! oh well you're the doctor here......make sure you don't get electrical shock here since so many 'power supply issue'....!!!

Gabanyayaya,

You could easily find the answer by scrolling back this entire thread; all the prescribed mods have been fully described and there are even pictures with pointers of how to do them by our T-amp sifu Jazzy.  tongue.gif
*
Yes I know...but would it be good to have just one page that concludes all mod for this T amp. Hence it could be a introduction for xtorm T amp sales here biggrin.gif

gabanyayaya,
xtorm did mentioned about moving the postings on the SMDs mod to earlier pages.. our pages is growing by the day and sifting through the postings and pages is not something everyone want to do... tongue.gif
*
if it's possible then we should otherwise better put a new thread - T-amp mod thread w/o any other topics....that way senang for all moders out there to start

ok, you had a longggg day buddy. take it easy k. tongue.gif
anyway a separate thread on T-Amp modifications will be short lived.. I'd rather compiled in a pdf document and upload for anyone to download. Just like your evaluation board documentation. KISS! laugh.gif
*
aha....this can be an ideal idea....put it all in one pdf and paste it here. sinang mah.....but have you guys fully recover from any moding fever to the T-amp. It seams endless....after one cap then goes to another SMDs and to another thank cap.....bila mau habis.... hmm.gif

Gabanyayaya, macam ini baru syok mah! Do you know that the 4 ferrite inductors which come along with the T-amp made it sound ‘aggressive’ and dynamic? Changing them to Jazzy and Ongbs self coiled ‘donut’ styled ones would smoothen sound by quite a lot. I like my T-amp’s dynamic sound so I’m staying put with them. No fixed rules here, you could tweak it to sound the way you actually prefer your music to sound.  thumbup.gif

Syok...!!! how errr how arrr I'm lost again.... doh.gif

Yah...change the coil definitely improve sq

I've not either. I was reading through (and a big chunk merely browsing through) the diyAudio forum on sureelectronics Tripath board and noted not many T-amp users of our type are modifying their boards yeah? Wonder whether I actually missed out, if there are.

ArjenShenzhen is selling the T-amp boards very cheaply, at €5 each . He also mentioned those fake Audiophiler 2.2uF caps were bought at €0.80 cents per pop.
*
Y.C that €5 T-amp board is it a complete build or just a PCB? Do you have any pictures? I'm being sending mail to

Gabanyayaya,
Working with SMDs require real steady hands, right equipments and a pair of sharp eyes. A little courage & luck would help!  laugh.gif
Otherwise you can messed up, big time!

Pratice my dear friend! Practice makes perfectbrows.gif

Guys. I need a favour.
Just finished compiling the modding procedures.
Since the file is BIG, I split it into 2 parts as per Stage One and Stage Two mods.

Please read and make comments before I published the final version.

Thank you in advance!  rclxms.gif
*
errr.....better put a list of replacement parts needed eg. cap/resistors new value etc. Just my 2cent proposal....
