I can assure you, this need a real steady hand and a very sharp eye... Here's the pix of that 'procedure'... how in the world you solder those tiny chip pin........you use toyol to solder ka???

QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 28 2008, 05:46 PM) Thanks Y.C for your latest update I will change my Input caps from Panasonic/Matsushita 4.7uF to ERO MKT 1822 2.2uF today. I just bought a 3-way Crossovers for testing (to test my floor standing speakers, prepare for bi-amp driving) Hohoho...bro ongbs you just bought a 3-way crossovers for bi-amping!!!!!! Is it an electronic x-over just like the Linkwitz-Riley filter? Is this some kinda universal x-over suitable for all speakers??????? I'm very very keen to know man......

QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 29 2008, 05:51 PM) this is passive X'over, with some coils, caps and resistors.... not electronic type... enternal x-over like this one x-over is hard to build right....how do you measure..... This post has been edited by gabanyayaya: Sep 29 2008, 07:33 PM

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Sep 29 2008, 08:41 PM) gabanyayaya, where did you ripped that off? Your mission? jazz...if i do that that there will be no more hifi for me.... QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 29 2008, 09:47 PM) Not measure, tune with my own ears I just replaced some components till the sound suite me. Different type of drivers behave differently so technically each speaker should pair with specific crossover only. So I am in doubt so called "Universal" passive crossover does ever exist? If really want to call universal, those electronic active crossover (variable) will be more suitable to this term so this is just 'agak-agak' la....hey can you suggest to me a good cap replacement for speaker x-over. mine use the el chepo polarized cap....want to change to a propylene type but the one that easy to find here la locally....any suggestion?

QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 29 2008, 11:16 PM) jazzy939 try linear psu before.. gabanyayaya, octave electronics have some exotic caps, i think my father got the M-cap from there. ongbs, lots of online calculatorler, once you it suites your ear, use those to see if its overlap in frequency or not but if its suites your ear then no issuelah octave no lah...

QUOTE(ijan @ Sep 30 2008, 12:09 AM) octave are ridiculously priced. u can get better parts elsewhere..IMHO, im no supreme being, but a Nichicon KZ, FG, FM, Elna SILMIC2, Cerafine wont show their true worth if placed wrongly. Using these caps as power rail banks is just BAD and waste of money. IMHO, electrical supply rail use okay okay caps (dont go RuLYcon now..), but anything in signal path, EXOTIC is a must, haha! But dun go over-exotic like mundorf man..that is really rich-ppl thingie...a freaking piece is 2x the price of the t-amp...more or less, using an RM5 polypropylene capacitor would adhere no significant audible difference compared to Mundorf. Extreme system design, then the difference will be there, extreme simple design...nah.. where to get RM5 polypropylene capacitor????????? Can you suggest one here???

How much does it cost you? jazzy look at the second picture....RM45.00 if not mistaken....so ongbs you change the caps (black one) to tweak the sound????? this is good.....i bet it can be integrated with any speakers.....boleh ka???

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Sep 30 2008, 01:13 PM) gabanyayaya, RM45 for each or stereo pair? definitely can! a simple matter of calculating the required crossover frequency, getting the right capacity capacitors/inductors/resistors, hear, change until it sounds right to you and voila! below is some poison found.. next project.......

hey guys,
I need some info here regarding buying from RS. Is it possible for individual to have an account without any commercial purposes. I heard that RS Malaysia only accept registration company only with regular orders not like diy eg.
Errr does the ERO caps comes in multiple value????

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Oct 4 2008, 01:31 AM) Added on October 4, 2008, 12:37 amgabanyayaya, this is basic. the presence of a capacitor on a resistive or inductive circuit will always act like a filtering network. the arrangement between the capacitor/inductive will decides if it's a lo pass or hi pass filtering network. normally, low pass in parallel to the input, while hi pass in series.. Thats how I remember them. but in the T-amp you only use one cap only eg. 2.2uF...that's for hi pass, how about the low pass???
