Here you go! For everyone to d/l too! biggrin.gif

march,
Your T-Amp was truly plug n play .. and at a price too which I think it is not too bad!

We're having fun tweaking.. some people liked it, some don't.. I am enjoying every minute of it! biggrin.gif

Oh ya... the T-Amp TT Session, earlier planned after Raya, have NOT decided on the venu although I vaguely remember, something about Y.C's place.. brows.gif

We have to wait until the gang have received the T-Amp (the fourth batch) and carried the necessary modifications.. I'd see mid to late october timing...

If you can bring along your TA2022 its even better. Want to hear diffrences if there are any... obviously there would be.. wink.gif

QUOTE(March05 @ Sep 24 2008, 02:23 PM)
My T-amps' already got toroidal trans, speaker protection, bi-amped, etc...what more to do? Haiya....bosan nya. I don't have a clue what to do next.  icon_question.gif

You guys still having all the fun.....so when's the big T-amp TT session? At least that one I can join in lah.

Don't forget to update the thread with pix and your reviews... biggrin.gif

So, the input caps is purely a DC blocking cap function?
BTW xtorm, can you check the DC voltage at the input? I did.. you'd be surprised.. ohmy.gif

ongbs,
yes it is. I read it can be 2.5! ohmy.gif
I think it was designed to be such a way..
adjust to zero.. hmm good idea.. time to re-look at the circuit wink.gif

QUOTE(ongbs @ Sep 25 2008, 10:07 AM)
I think T-amp is bias >2V at input right?
Not sure can we able to add in a VR to adjust it near to 0V?

xtorm,
bro, what are u saying?
NOT a good idea to remove input caps? You damaged your mid driver because of that?
Ooopss sorry to hear that.. take it easy k.. like whay Y.C. was saying get a new one and life moves on...

QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 25 2008, 08:22 PM)
guys scrap the idea of removing input cap for now, i just try with 20k resistor there is distortion, with 12k there is none, but in both situation the speaker is being push out! even during idle. sorry didnt notice tht previously....but yesterday i play it loud for 30 minutes without issue tho...

i just burn 1 of my mids with 20k resistor cry.gif .... should i move to lower resistor value and try again? hmm..... sweat.gif

yes ongbs there is the 'tub' noise when i on the amplifier, at the same time as the mid being push out...gona get another mid tomolo....so sad. cry.gif

QUOTE(metalmania @ Sep 25 2008, 10:03 PM)
as long as cheap i'm your man, so more money can be pumped to DIY components biggrin.gif, for better results rub some flux into the wire scrub and heat and melt with hair dryer, scrub will be a little kinder to tip and prevent the scrub from rusting.
any improvement on the TAmp?

Duly noted! Yup I have read the postings!

There are ALOT of speaker drivers in JP.. suit all/any budget. It's your call! tongue.gif

QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 25 2008, 10:09 PM)
yea dont remove those cap and put it direct, follow the page i posted, stupid me didnt do any research before going for it.

as mention by them, better bass and dynamic smile.gif but you need a floating power supply for the t-amp, the ground of the t-amp needs to be isolated from the ground of the source.

Added on September 25, 2008, 10:09 pmbtw bro jazzy, any nice speaker driver you see in jalan pasar?

Louder I can accept.. dynamic? hmmm definitely will let you safely do it first! biggrin.gif

At this point of time, I believe my T-Amp is at the peak of it's sonic performance. I'd rather not risk losing this level of sonic bliss.. rclxms.gif
I may use another board for the 'butchering' purposes but not this 'baby' tongue.gif

The only thing that is left and there are still room for it is the replacement of the stock inductors to toroid..

I believe that would be the final yard... wink.gif

I have mentioned this earlier about the 'micro-surgery' done due to damaged C16 mounting pad..
I can assure you, this need a real steady hand and a very sharp eye... rolleyes.gif

Here's the pix of that 'procedure'... tongue.gif

Let it burn in slowly.. this weekend you can power up the full errr 9W? laugh.gif

Heyy your own DIY PSU eh? Lets see those pix eh? wink.gif

Later can we expect a review on the sonic performance from you? TQ!

QUOTE(wui223 @ Sep 26 2008, 12:35 AM)
Finally fired up my t-amp smile.gif Listening to music now but can't really blast to full volume, family is sleeping..zzz...

Btw, everything stock for the moment. Power supply is a linear regulated PSU which i made up from a LM7812 and 2 E.caps plus a 680uF cap as filter cap.

Actually 1A is more than sufficient to drive the T-Amp. I used 4.2A because of the anticipated bi-amping plans.. wink.gif
Have yet to accomplish that. Still enjoying the single amp ops.. Need to go to JP to get some goodies before the bi-amp become reality. Raya time I will be bi-amping! rclxm9.gif

Black metal casing from junkyard huh... hmm.gif interesting... hmm.gif

wui223,
I just remembered, LM7805 is for 5V regulation. for 12V you should be using LM7812. Am I right? hmm.gif
