.. more reading stuffs..  tongue.gif

"Note : USE TWO OF THESE AMPS IN A BALANCED CONFIGURATION FOR EXTRA HEADROOM AND DYNAMIC POWER.

TO DO THIS YOU ONLY NEED :
- 1 RCA FEMALE INPUT PLUG THAT GOES TO TWO RCA OUTPUTS. YOU WILL OF COURSE NEED 2 OF THESE.
- FOR THE SPEAKER OUT JUST CONNECT UP THE 2 + OUTPUT TERMINALS TOGETHER WITH SEPARATE SHORT JUMPER WIRES AND THE CONNECT THESE TO YOUR POSITIVE SPEAKER CABLE. THE NEGATIVE WIRE ONLY HAS TO CONNECT TO EITHER NEGATIVE OUTPUT TERMINAL. EASY AND BOY IS IT WORTH IT."

Anybody wanna give this a shot?  whistling.gif

huh, does it mean 1 board (2ch) for 1 speaker?
The link description is too brief sad.gif

xtorm,
risky? hmm maybe. but personally I wont do it tongue.gif

Yes.. its all about high quality caps and that yellow thing although acceptable, can be better!  thumbup.gif

That 10uF that I use does reduce the 'brightness' as compared to using just 2uF.

I have this wild idea about bi-amping; the amp feeding the tweeter will have 2uF input caps, while the amp driving the woofers will have a 10uF input caps!  laugh.gif

Since I already have that configuration, I will do that!!!  thumbup.gif
*
I used Japan Panasonic NP 4.7uF and it sounds much better than original, especially the vocal part rclxm9.gif

I'd say 4.7uF would be midway between my 10uF and 2uF experimentation. 6uF would be perfect! wink.gif
4.7uF would be a lil bit 'more' bass biggrin.gif

Yes,quality is everything, that Panasonic caps would be just great!  thumbup.gif
Where did you acquire it?
*
4.7uF input caps gave me better Vocal tone and bass thumbup.gif
I only try 1 ELNA 8200uf cap, with this big cap on, I tried to blast hard but the power supply draw current hardly >1A now, means the caps is functioning.
Previously with 2x1500uF when blasting the A draw may go close to 2A.

It got a [M] logo on it, does it Panasonic? I bought it from my friend.

ongbs,
As long as you're happy with it, stay with it !  thumbup.gif
Yes.. big caps you have there!  tongue.gif I have to make a note of that! I have NOT gone into replacement of that existing caps yet.
Saw the [M] logo. Panasonic? No idea. Have never used them before. Expensive?

Whoa.. you even mod your speakers! Way to go!  thumbup.gif
*
Me not sure does it Panasonic too but my friend said so.
RM7/pc only, as long as I happy, not really care about the brand, it sound better than my previous Elna 3.3uf NP cap icon_rolleyes.gif .

Speaker mod? yea, simple modification but audio varying a lot, just to suit my "old ears" that were abused by too much "good noise" as yours doh.gif tongue.gif

You got a spare AVR casing! Good for you!  thumbup.gif
With that huge power switch, its gonna be NICE! wink.gif
*
I bought it at 30 bucks from a friend, I do have two AVRs with me but one is too big (front panel plastic) and another one is fully plastic doh.gif

This casing size just nice, i may put in my smps too, if i want smile.gif

For RM30 its 'cheap'.. but it is not kinda huge housing for a small little thing? biggrin.gif
OH, you gonna house the PSU too right? I guess it should be okay..

On my side, after the listening session, I have to conclude that I love the T-Amp sounds with a linear PSU.
It has to be as good as my Bench PSU or better. I would NOT settle for any less..  tongue.gif

Actually the housing that I have is even bigger! It's supposed to housea pre-amp and it's PSU, a power amp and it's PSU and mains RFI board.
That project was on hold.. looks like I will use it for the T-Amp.. a definite overkill!  brows.gif
*
30 consider OK lah since plastic one also >RM15 and I like the size, purposely looking for bigger casing but not too big tongue.gif
pre-amp? drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif
DIY too? can explain more on it? notworthy.gif

I bought a (high quality) pre-amp kit a while back for another project.
I thought of using it with the T-Amp. wink.gif
I won't use a simple pot for it biggrin.gif
At least use a simple buffered pre-amp for the T-Amp...  tongue.gif
omg.. too much 'amp'ing here..  icon_question.gif
*
bro,

may be you may give another medical report for this amp with/without the pre-amp you mentioned tongue.gif
Let's see which setup giving better SQ.

In a quest to find out how far the T-Amp can and will go, I will! tongue.gif
Bear in mind, I am using my reference pre-amp (a Yamaha) along this while.
It would be interesting to find out how far you can stretch the budget with electronic kits.
I am all for 'bang per buck' setups biggrin.gif
Anyway, it won't be happening until the weekends.. need to rebuild the power supply for the kit pre-amp as I am using it for 'something' else.. tongue.gif

edit..
I just remembered why I did not use the pre-amp on my other amp, it was insanely accurate and sensitive, revealing almost, if not all the 'flaws' from the source.. amplified everything, noise included!  laugh.gif

So far, the Amp-1 or Patient 1 has clocked 11 hours, while Amp-2 or Patient 2 managed 14 hours.
At this juncture Amp-2 is the sweet performer due to the 10uF input caps. I will keep the current configuration for my bi-amping setup which I am planning this week, among other things like the above.. tongue.gif
*
Thanks for the info bro notworthy.gif
Awaiting you test then smile.gif

Quite tempting, i been looking for the T-amp chip for long time. gonna hold my desire first, need to save up some money before getting crazy into DIYing again.

Jazzy939: inductance meter is not cheap toy, if u consider china brand is different issue. but why not consider getting a digital scope?
*
huh? measuring inductance need digital scope?
Then bro jazzy will sell us a "bump", not coils anymore tongue.gif

Well, according to the specs those coils are 10uH, not really know how's the value will affect SQ?
If the sound quality didn't improve much that is not worth changing as this board is quite small,
keep on changing components will make it look messy sad.gif
Some how if air core maybe we need to connect the coils out from the board due to limited space! sweat.gif

jazzy if you can do some air core low inductance and resistance unit, why not! they are easy to make...yes but no inductance metermah.

the other pair if no issue at all hopefully it arrive next monday!! biggrin.gif

eh you planing to do full balance bi-amp setup ah!! ahahaha

after some thinking i might play with the balance thing...hmmm

Y.C.,
As I earlier mentioned, at RM55 for the basic board, it's Best Bang per Buck Ampthumbup.gif
The TA2020 might be better, in terms of slightly higher power. I have NOT heard it, so I cant pass any judgement on it. tongue.gif
My system is now singing, sounding the best I have heard for the last 20 years I am in HiFi..
As far as I am concerned, the TA2024 still RULEZthumbup.gif
*
Well say bro jazzy, i got the same feeling like you, tho i am not into real hifi world smile.gif
I need to mod the crossover of my floor standing(FS) speakers to suit this Tripath amp and my ear....to get the most out of this amp.

I never know that my FS speakers can 'sings' this well....even after 8 yrs long!!! rclxms.gif
