the ipsw built is done by winpwn with slight crash issue of winpwn..will update more soon!

Take note.

1) Make sure you got the correct firmware image for your 2g or 3g phone. They are not the same. You will get 160x errors (1600, 1601, 1602, 1604) if used wrong firmware image for your device.

1) Custom your root partition to 550MB as many have error 6 while restoring.

3) DFU mode has to be correct.

dont do the same mistake as i did..back up all u can..i was totally excited to upgrade to 2.0.1 totally forgot to back up

the thing is, it crash every time i create the custom firmware. anyone experience this?

potion i had the same problem when 1st 2nd time i tried it..try not to use bootneuter..jes activate it..
i did that and it works well..then i download bootneuter via cydia and bootneuter it from there..
u should be ok..without the bootneuter from winpwn 2.0.1 i think its a bug..try that!

yeah. the neuter part got problem. leave it uncheck give me successfully create the custom firmware. thanks for the info. hope this problem fix soon

Hi guys, newbie here, need to ask some silly question, sorry...

The winpwn 2.0.0.4 jailbreaks the 3g iphone but will it unlock the phone?

Only jailbreak but no unlocking yet. May need to wait for software unlock to be available but preferably, get the iphone that's completely unlock rather that unlocking it with software.

also can't seem to build custom firmware with the bootneuter checked...is the only solution at this moment, is to leave that unchecked and install it via cydia?

just unchecked installer, and it seems ok...been trying the new firmware, in short, faster and more stable...

i have successfully pwn to 2.01 using 2.0.4.
the only problem is when i update the eseentials on Cydia, it hangs.

Just wondering can i directly pawn my phone from 1.1.2 to 2.0.1 ?

or do i need to restore to 1.1.4 or newer FW first before using winpwn?

I've tried to build the IPSW and it crash too when it came to resizing the partition. Its not the Cydia, Installer or BootNeuter that cause this. To solve this (i think)

1. Uninstall winpwn 2.0.0.4
2. Go to C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming (on vista) or C:\Docs and Setting\YOUR USERNAME\Application Data (on xp).
3. Find a folder name cmw and delete it.
4. Reinstall back winpwn 2.0.0.4
5. Built the IPSW

That solve my problem when creating IPSW. Hope it can solve yours too.

happened to me as well on cydia..so its best to do it one by one instead of one bulk hehe
so far so good for me calls in with names...sms too with names..

How's the latest 2.01? I still havent had time to fix the bricked iPhone that was sent to me. Will get down to it soon. Hopefully this few days. Luckily I didnt have time to do it or else I wud have done it to 2.0 n I read that u fellas had lotsa probs in 2.0 like lag n all that.

Does 2.0.1 give better overall response time on applications like Contacts, SMS, etc.? Or it doesn't actually do much help?

Nope no need..i did backed up on iTunes and all came back nicely..SMS n Calls

So far 3rd party apps on my iphone is bosspreffs n bosstools..both works perfectly..other free apps from iTunes as well.. will install more on 3rd party apps..cydia works fine so far...other than the crash issue

I don't plan to have Cydia actually. Never actually liked it. Good thing that Installer is included now, albeit is the beta version. I kept getting error 6 just now. Updated my iTunes to 7.7.1 and see how it goes. Ah yes, i did put my phone into DFU mode.
