Kuching speed sucks yesterday. My HSDPA signal drop to GPRS from time to time. Upload 5MB file takes half an hour!!!
Anyway, the speed in Kuching (at least mine) for this month is below average. Speedtest shows 700kbps to 1.2Mbps on a few best try. Yesterday shows 80kbps... QUOTE(kopitiam @ Sep 10 2008, 05:35 PM) |

Hi xixo,
Before decide which package, you need to make sure your area is covered by HSDPA. Else, no difference between D68 and D98 |

Hi Xixo,
Try this link. http://202.190.116.141/CelcomCoverageIIPub...comCoverage.jsp This is official Celcom coverage map. You may take it as a guide, but some forumers said it is not accurate... |

I just got my Celcom broadband yesterday but have problem. Hope Sifu here can help me.
Successfully installed the Mobile Connect Software with A1 Vodafone logo at the Mobile Connect software. My friend is HuaWei logo. But each time i tried to connect, it will only pop up "Opening Port" and stuck at there. While my friends din't face such problem. Then i tried their modem also the same result. So i went to my Device Manager and discover an unknown device named "Something Async Adapter". It only appear after i tried to connect to the broadband. btw, Im using Acer Aspire 5550 series laptop with Window Xp Sp2 as my OS and im currently at UTM, Skudai, Johor. Hope those Sifu out here can help me. |

I'm not sifu, but I think it is related to firewall setting on your laptop.

Make sure it shows success After the 1st step done, open the Mobile Connect software => Setting => Network Connection Setting => Profile => New, insert as below : Profile name : Celcom 3G Authentication : *99# On your right hand side should have APN, choose to static and insert "celcom3g" Save the profile and select the profile Try to connect. Hope it works. EDIT IN BOLD This post has been edited by Mr Cola: Sep 11 2008, 03:46 PM |

Hi Xixo,
Yup! The link is not working, but it used to work previously. Maybe too many people complaint not accurate... Personally, I think streamyx should be better than Celcom BB. Anyway, we still share the same backbone with streamyx (TM=Celcom). You're right, the only good thing about Celcom is travel factor (if you're comparing with streamyx). If you subscribe to D98 plan and in a location where you can get 3.6Mbps or more, than speed is another factor (but keep in mind of the 5GB policy). QUOTE(xixo_12 @ Sep 11 2008, 04:35 PM) |

Hi, Is there anyone using the Celcom 3G D98 plan in Melaka area? What kind of speeds are you getting? I'm currently using the D68 plan mainly to surf but if i try to play an online game such as World of Warcraft, the latency is just horrible... Will switching to the D98 plan solve my troubles? Thanks.
