So there really isn't much of a difference because in Singapore
it costs around RM40 for 1 liter.
So it is actually same price per liter with Meguiars which costs RM70-80.

So which one would be better on a metallic silver car (Proton Waja)?
-Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner
-Meguiars NXT Generation Car Wash
-Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash
-Turtle Wax Ice Wash

I use ONR. Never look back. Before I used PG car wash. One bottle of ONR lasted for 1 year, 2 car wash a week average.

it's not make any different, i already use meg's gold class, nxt, ONR, TurtleIce. their are no different. all product give shine. but i stick with nxt because it give better cleaning. car shampoo is just medium for gliding into car surface without scratch you clear coat

QUOTE(barca96 @ Apr 9 2012, 04:12 PM)
Really?? No difference??
Does that apply to the normal car shampoo only or
to their wax products as well?
*
I wouldn't say that there is no difference. As dadurtyz pointed out, one of the functions of a car shampoo is to lubricate the surface to prevent scratching when washing the surface.

Aside from that, a car shampoo should also be strong enough to release the dirt from the surface and yet gentle enough not to strip off any wax or other protection on the surface of the paint.

ONR has protective polymers that not only lubricates the surface to prevent scratching but also to encapsulate dirt particles to further prevent scratching. The polymers in ONR also do not remove any existing protection on the surface of the paint but will leave behind a protective polymer film that enhances the gloss of the paint. Hence the full name of ONR as Wash & Shine.

Where you do get your ONR from? I'm using Meg's Gold Class now. Last very long one large bottle but sometimes I am lazy to unwind that hose.

folks, I wanna diy polish-polish..

what are the tools needed and the consumables are recommended to use? including the cost also..

the car is a Kelisa, 11 years old and a polish virgin. Never been polished. 90% of washing is home wash using regular sponge and running water. What I can see, the paint on the roof and hood is a little bit worn or in other word, no more shiny. But it hasnt been totally 'eaten' since the car has rarely seen road-side-car-wash.. Paint is good, just needed polish.

so, any recommended things I should do?

Meguiars stuffs are a bit too expensive for me.
Would Mr. Clean cloths be good enough as a cheaper alternative?

I used to have the yellow chamois for drying the car and now using the 3 pack of microfibre. So far ok. The chamois was nice but then it got more and more torn and dirty ohmy.gif

Thanks biggrin.gif I'll finish up my Gold Class first.

Added on April 21, 2012, 10:06 pmAnyone else use Soft99 MetaClean? It took the 'cloudiness' of the paint away (metallic black) but the wax disappeared in a week. Bad weather granted but no more smooth clayed feel. Just roughness. This is fresh after a wash with Meguiar's Gold Class.

Yes, new fresh paint better to get-it protect by wax, and if can, re-apply it once a month to maintain your paint. smile.gif , u can skip the polish.

KC bro, can't see your pics.

Would you recommend Meguiar's ColorX over Soft99 Meta Clean? Meta Clean works very well for me but the smell like kerosene and the wax disappears really fast! After using, the whole sponge will be BLACK.

During the first 2 weeks complete flat resting (& months of recuperation) makes me to think & perhaps to consider again meaning of life!
