QUOTE(junbecks @ Nov 20 2012, 03:22 PM) got it last Friday.. QUOTE(mav3rick @ Nov 20 2012, 03:32 PM) if not mistaken, you can get it from Hypercoat directly. Go like the Meguiar's Malaysia facebook and keep a lookout for their promotions. I bought most of my stuff at their booth during the COTY2012 exhibition (20% off). they brought most of the required items for all 5 steps, including all the kits. i called up Hypercoat on Friday, didnt have stock.. so i went to Subang Parade.. |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Nov 27 2012, 02:24 PM) no idea, have to check out their listing price. typically even after shipping so long you can split between few items/people sharing shipping, it'll be cheaper than malaysia price last time i checked, meguairs on amazon cant be shipped to malaysia.. once u put in your credit card details and your address it will tell you that shipping is not available to malaysia.. not sure why, even if its not aerosol. if bulk buy is possible let me know im interested to get the claybars.. |

need some advise, not sure whether its the rain or whatelse i cant think of...
even after cleaning with OPC + waxing with megs ultimate wax, after 2 days of rain, the stains start appearing.. cant get rid of it after a normal wash; megs gold class or wash and wax doesnt even clean it properly. im quite sure last time it wasnt even like that, even after a week after waxing the car using OCW, no matter how heavy it rained, the dirt comes off so easily after each wash.. still dont understand why my car gets stained so easily.. any advise? im currently thinking of trying out permanon since its the cheapest solution for now.. |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Nov 29 2012, 07:19 PM) you probably have dirt/grime build up somewhere (door handles?) and as rain occurs, the water flushes out some of those dirt and it instantly stains your vehicle. i was actually trying to find the video explanation of it however i can't so you'll have to look for it yourself cant be. coz it happens on the bonnet, roof, everywhere... and btw i wash every week, and wax almost after every wash.. actually i dont mind getting dirt marks on the car after a rain, what really pisses me off is i have to use OPC just to clear off the stain.. @ZeroSP, will permanon help with the rain stain? Added on November 29, 2012, 7:24 pm QUOTE(junbecks @ Nov 29 2012, 07:21 PM) its normal dude, if it didnt rain and you get stains, then i'd be worried. white .. normal to have the dirt marks after raining, no issues with that.. but it gets stained so easily, i need strong stuff to get the stains off, either OPC or light polishing..OR if you just washed, dried, THEN get stains then I'd be worried. btw, what colour is your car? just applied Permanon Platinum last Saturday, now a short review after 2 days...
prep work before applying Permanon Platinum was shampoo with Meguiars Gold Class, claying with Hecta PL, then very light polishing with Meguiars Ultimate Polish to remove the stains, and then following up with another wass with Meguiars Gold Class again to make sure that all polishing residue has been removed.. So then i applied the permanon platinum, mixing 20ml of permanon platinum and filled the provided spray bottle with clean filtered water. after finishing the whole car, i followed up with Meguiars Ultimate Detailer (UQD).. The day after, Sunday, i did a quick wipe down with ONR and then used the 2 in 1 revitalizer as sort of a detailer, shine was nice after that, but could also be because of UQD. overall, the shine before detailing with UQD (Permanon only) was OK, but after applying UQD, shine was good, very wet looking finish, one word, nice! and i wouldnt say that beading properties for Permanon Platinum was that great either.. more of a disappointment. after the super heavy downpour in KL yesterday, the roof wasnt beading water properly at all.. very disappointed.. also did apply permanon platinum onto the windscreen, half of the whole area so that i could see the difference, and during the downpour, beading was also ok, similar to using OCW on the windscreen, however i feel OCW did better on the windscreen.. However, on the windscreen where the wiper doesnt wipe, water wasnt beading at all on.. rain water was was just flowing down, first time ever happening on my ride since 2 years ago i bought the car.. have always been applying OCW and sometimes Rain X from day 1 on the windscreen, no disappointments with OCW and Rain X, with Permanon, very disappointing. No pics tho coz it was raining like crazy, visibility was crap and lots of traffic. whereas on the roof, water beading wasnt that great, to my liking, i expected more from Permanon Platinum.. water bead feels like after washing with Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax, without applying any sort of wax.. anyhow, since i have about 50% of permanon platinum left, i will give it another go once in maybe another 2-3 months, or once i feel that its necessary. ultimately, what made me purchased Permanon Platinum was the good reviews on its beading properties, its durability and also the ease of washing off dirt (some positive charge or something that doesnt bond dirts to the paint). so in terms of water beading, very disappointed. OCW + UQD gets the job done much better by a mile.. next review would probably be washing of the dirt after more heavy downpours, might probably wash the car in 2-3 days time and see how easily the stains get removed. QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 4 2012, 11:53 AM) maybe consider skipping this step and just wipe off the residues with a clean m/f cloth? because the car wash has gloss/lubricating properties which may hinder the bonding of your new wax/sealant (which in this case permanon platinum) i tried on the bonet, then i thought it would be a pain in the ass to buff off the whole car with MF, surely miss some parts.. haha.. laziness.. i thought about this as well, so what i did was just used more water and less shampoo solution so its very much lighter than the usual shampoo wash... |

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Dec 4 2012, 05:22 PM) Firstly bro, you don't use a shampoo like that to remove whatever polishing oils, that's why it is interfering with the Permanon bonding. To remove polishing oils you need a proper IPA wipedown and whatever equivalent may be used. oooic.. next time i'll skip the washing after polishing.. good info for myself. never tried using IPA on clear coats before coz a few years ago i screwed up my LCD screen with IPA, so i stopped using IPA as a cleaner.. still have a 500ml bottle at home i use for cleaning processors, mobo, etc.. is OPC/Permanon's Hecta PL wipedown equivalent to IPA ? since i know OPC is a damn good cleaner...While this is an honest experience from you, this can be misleading. anyways since i was free earlier this morning i did a test spot again on the bonnet, washed with soap, then did another wash with hecta pl(OPC finished), assuming that Hecta PL will remove any oils or whatsoever. then applied permanon platinum on one side, and OCW on the other for comparison purposes later in the week. QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 4 2012, 11:37 PM) to the non professionals (and even someone thats in the pro scene for so MANY years) may want to take note of this: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-d...html#post319835 according to him, IPA may be harmful to the clear coats if not used correctly/carefully? or am i understanding him incorrectly? This post has been edited by jakesean: Dec 5 2012, 02:11 PM |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Dec 19 2012, 09:52 AM) I have z7, just about as mild as GC. For more cleaning power, I'd suggest you try DG 901 - Car Wash Concentrate or Optimum Car Wash. DG got smaller bottle that you can try 1st, and I think OCWash also got 1lit (32oz) bttl. haiya.. i just bought Z7 in singapore.. once this one goes out i will try OCWash.. me more interested cleaning powerrrrrrrrrrrr... |
