Hi there, sorry to disturb you again, i got some question about random orbit machine which i wanted to use it for regular waxing and swirl marks remover, occasionally, some polishing. so i narrowed down to this, Bosch GEX-270 AE, which fits my budget, the price is around rm320. =D

My answer - No worries .... firstly you dont need a machine to wax!!2ndly ROB does not have the strength to correct - swirls!! By the time u purchase it & master - u only have small learning cure & soon discover the truth of 2nd point -

u wanna to polishg paint - try this

before

50/50

bigger picture

so, my question is whether this orbit machine fits for waxing, swirl removing and polishing? is the opm rated too high? the spec stated is 7500-12000. I'm afraid it will damage the paint.

SO does it look like being machine? polish?

another one

both before

after ta da

and ta da again

Should i buy this orbiter before meeting you? I need your advice to use this machine as i really do not know how to use this machine. or do you have any other recommendation?

ROB does not have the consistent rotation to level up yr paint, although it does not constant rotate that might burn yr paint - but it has not strength to correct any swirls or scratch

if u want to clean yr paint

TRY OPC

Thanks!=)

Hi peeps! I'm new to this and really enjoys reading this thread.. Thou only finish the last 20 over pages as stumble onto this thread only yesterday. smile.gif

I'm keen to purchase afew Optimum product but confuse on which to get?? Just a few basic one will do so pls recommend which are the following I should go for :
1) Opti-Seal 237ml at sgd38
2) Opti car wax 504ml at sgd26
3) Opti poli-seal 236ml at sgd17
4) No rinse wash ans shine 936ml at sgd30
5) Concentrated car wash 936ml at sgd22
6) Opti instant detailed and gloss enhancer 937ml at sgd34
7) Lastly, Opti sample kit at sgd30

FYI, I have waxco wash&shine, clay bar, polish and sealant with me now. For a newbie like me, already quite satisfied with the outcome.

I really really wish to meet up with you gurus here but as you know, I'm not in MY.

Not wanting to waste my $ on hearing some sales guy recommending me to buy every product. I would instead, love to hear your recommdation on which package to get from the above will be the best combination..

Sincerely looking forward to your respond as I might be getting this evening as I can't wait to hands on.. Lol!!

Thanks in advance guys!
Cheers to all!

testimony

QUOTE("bella")
as a number of guys here who signed up for the event couldn't make it, thought i would post a quick trip report.

many thanks to KC for arranging the event, and to both KC and Seech for making the day possible and sharing their knowledge. it was an extremely enjoyable day, learnt a lot, and it was great meeting the kids at yayasan sunbeams home.

KC started the session with a brief talk about detailing, the various stages, required products and tools.

many may think once their cars has lost her previous lustre that its time for a respray, in fact its better to keep the original paint. most places won't do the necessary prep work (which can take up to 90 days, with the spraying only requiring one day), and it they don't it won't be cheap. even then most paint shops ovens don't go to as high a temperature as the factory, hence why its better when possible to keep the original paint.

KC also highlighted the shortfalls of opting for what may seem the more convenient option ie getting those muppets in car parks to snow wash yourcars, but in the long term this can cause more damage to the paintwork than its worth it (not least because they run the rotatory polisher at too high an rpm which damages the paint's clear coat).

for those who want to keep their car clean with little or no fuss, without having to get into the whole detailing thing, the easiest thing is to use the optimum no rinse wash (ONR). due to the improved surface tension its possible to wash with one microfibre and dry with another leaving no smears, all done within 20mins (easier than the current no rinse wash i'm using). for even better value, i would suggest a couple of guys buy a gallon bottle together.

then followed a hands on demo of using the rotatory polisher and correcting the paintwork. i didn't bring my coupe for the demo, so KC used Temptress' wira

... by no means a bella but the wira certainly left feeling like one.

the hood had in fact recently been resprayed but after the detailing looked considerably better (in fact it highlighted imperfections from the respray compared to the original paintwork).

also amazed that we were able to get rid of stains from tree sap and scratches on the boot.

TADA a car that has been frequent car wash

user posted image

lesson begin with proper washing techniques "preventive measure" "proactive protection"
most paint swirls 99.99 comes from wrong techniques of washing - either using wear out foam - swirls strokes instead of left to right/up to down strokes, washing from top to bottom or starting from top & gradually goes down to center then lastly finish with the bottom the most contaminates
or
worn out cloth - "what is the issue of changing MF cloth frequently" at least 3 times a year

surface preperations works

I was very excited to use the opc... So the first thing I did was mixing a bottle of 1:8 and tried it on the marks underneath the hood... I can see that the opc is working on the stains breaking down them down from the direct spray on. However, that ratio didn't work well on the stubborn stain and so I stepped up the ratio to 1:5. Slight improvement but still not quite what I was expecting. I tried one spray right from the original bottle itself to see how it work and to my surprise, it did pretty well! However, I find that it could not remove the yellowish paint (white car) resulted from prolong negligence on the paint even though it managed to clear off the stains...
